Big L is from harlem. proberly will go down as one of the most tragic deaths in rap due to the fact he never ever reached his potential or got the shine he deserved. his death was also tragic. he took like 5 shoots to the face point blank over some shit that didnt concern him. his bro was locked up in jail an some1 wanted to kill him. since he was locked up they couldnt get to him so they merked L. all these punchline rappers now are biting L's style an they still cant do it anywhere near as good as L. some ill track go an buy his first album lifestyles ov da poor an dangerous. his best songs
ebonics
put it on
all black
mvp
street struck
danger zone
the big picture intro
98 freestyle
the heist
casualties of a dice game

Big L was definitely one of the best. His storytellin' and punchlines were on a very high level. I was first listenin' to him after his dead, and when I heard this line of "Street Struck" I was really shocked: Stay off the corners - that might be your best plan/ Before you catch a bullet that was meant for the next man. It's exactly what happened to him, because he died "his brother's death".
You should definitely check out his first album. To the list of Gotti I would add "Let 'Em Have It 'L'": With Big L you can't swing long/ So get behind me and sing, 'cause every hero got a theme song 8) One of my favourite songs.
