Title: HOW COLLEGE FOOTBALL SHOULD BE SET UP NOW
Post by: ecrazy on December 07, 2003, 06:46:12 PM
That Is Some Fuckin Crap....USC NOT BEING IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE #1 In The Polls, FUCKIN BULLSHIT
...Here is what the BCS Should Do from Now On:

First Off, There is no Need to have all theses bowl games, since they dont really represent anything, so they should get rid of them all and just keep the Rose Bowl (because the Rose Bowl Is the OG of Bowl Games)...

NOW FOR THE GOOD PART:
Have The BCS Selection how we have it now, but instead of ending the season now, have playoffs during the last 3 weeks and play the championship Game the 3rd of January....the playoffs would be a 8 Bracket Single elimination playoff, similar to the NBA & NHL, and would be set up like it too so:
(1) Oklahoma v. (8) Tennessee
(2) LSU v. (7) Florida State
(3) USC v. (6) Texas
(4) Michigan v. (5) Ohio State
Theses games will be played during the last 3 weeks of December with the final game On January 3rd of this year, or you can have it be on New Years as the Rose Bowl is Traditionally Played...And yea, thats how I would do It

(I already pitched it to the BCS people, so dont try to steal it)

Do You Agree with me, or do you have something better??

they have been wanting a playoffs ever since 1998. It was fine the way it was beforethe BCS and when two teams would end up being nat'l champs....they should just play an extra game.

there might be two champs again this year....if USC wins the rose bowl

I ike your idea, and the Rose Bowl, which has been the Pac-10 vs. Big 10 championship could be moved to the title week, where all the teams that are playing for conference champions. but what about the parade and shit, 'cause that's fun as hell. Either way, it would be strange though, because so much tradition is in the Rose Bowl happening on New Years, with the parade, and the whole Pac-10 vs. Big 10, but change is good. But shaping the tradition around the playoffs would be very hard to do indeed.

I was thinking about it, many times the two national champions have came from the Rose Bowl, and some other bowl, usually Orange Bowl. This year it's Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl, which is also another bowl that has had many national champions in it's past, so all we did was make a more complicated system to get to our original problem.

The Thing holding back the entire system is having all theses bowl games. I dont think my idea will ever see the light of day, because its just more profitable to have all thoses sponsors with bowl games. They Make i bet more than $500 Million on sponsors alone....so you know they dont want that to end

yeah... and more Bowl games are added every year it seems. I remember it used to be the big 4, Rose, Sugar, Orange, and Cotton, and then the BCS added the Fiesta Bowl as a huge bowl, when it used to be the Rose Bowl runner ups and shit. I missed the old 4 Bowl system now, but too much money is to be made. What they can do is have the playoffs of the top teams, and at the same time have all the bowls. I remember in Jr. All-American when I played, after the season, we missed the playoffs, but we were invited to a bowl game to play another teams. And if only 8 teams play, that means some good teams will still get bowls, and be kind of a runner up. Have the playoff in December, and on New Years, have the Bowls, and a couple days later, have the big Bowl, what ever it is.

Yah a playoff system would be good...but i think, when making new rules....

Rule #1: If you dont win your OWN Conference Championship, you are NOT eligible to win the National Championship...*cough*Oklahoma*cough*!

i honestly don't understand how oaky ass homla  state could maintain their number one status when they lost got blow out late in the season........and to top it off IN THEIR OWN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! and it was against a #12-13 ranked TEAM! god that's an UGLY UGLY UGYLY  win!

then i really don't know how LSU could leap frong USC when their game against georgia was close !

USC blew the fuck out of every team cept Cal....and that was in the begining of the year! which leads me to my other point!

USC out of all the losses had the best lost !

Oaklahoma-last game of the year....blow out....national championship

LSU- sorry ass team.....at home.....no contest

USC-aright team.....begining of the year.....close game...triple over time

even if you hate usc you GOT to admit that USC had the best loss here then when you look at their wins they were consistantly handling their teams.......LSU were off and on Oaklahoma would've earned their #1 spot if the DIDN"T GET BLOW OUT BY A LOW RANKED TEAM.....but they did and deserve a number 2 or 3 ranking.....LSU should be a 3 or maybe 2 but USC should be number 1 DAMN IT THE FUCKING HELL

the bcs jews another pac 10 team though

yur talkin about ALL the wrong teams Jake...none of this matters. USC...Oklahoma...LSU...who cares what theyve won. What matters is...whether or not Hawaii won their game! Now...it ALL makes sense!! U can throw out the records...whether or not Hawaii won their game, should determine the BCS picture!!  ::)
