Rapper Nas was charged with assault yesterday (Dec. 18) stemming from a Dec. 10 altercation in a New York nightclub. The New York Daily News reports that the artist, whose real name is Nasir Jones, allegedly smashed a bottle against the head of a fellow patron who entered the VIP area of the club Cielo.
Nas reportedly surrendered to police yesterday and was arraigned last night before posting $7,500 bail. He is due back in court Jan. 20.

Following the stabbing of US record executive Lance 'Un' Riviera in New York's Kit Kat club at the end of last year, rap star Jay-Z has finally been charged with the crime.
In an interview with Vibe magazine earlier in the year, Riviera left little doubt that Jay-Z was involved in the incident in some way and the star has been fingered by at least 10 other witnesses.
He is charged with one count of first degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon alongside one count of second degree assault for intent to cause physical injury by means of a dangerous instrument. Jay-Z will answer the charges in the New York Supreme Court on February 22.
The incident occurred during a launch for the debut solo album of former Tribe Called Quest member Q-Tip. Jay-Z is said to have been enraged by Riviera's involvement in bootlegging his then unreleased album which is now number 10 on the US Billborad 200.
Riviera was stabbed in the stomach and back, his abdomen was slashed and a bottle was smashed over his head.

And i'm sure Pun banged his share of women in his day. His wife was fine too. Pun is gangsta, all them Puerto Rican muthaphukkaz in New York are. They real as fuck, that's why Jay had no retalition to any of Terrior Squad.
