Do the F.A not want us to do well in Euro 2004 or what. Fucking stupid ass decision. Surly if he was guilty of taking a drug or some shit then he wouldent of turned up for the test at all.
-
its a joke imo, im pissed, its funny thought, i guess the english fa dont want england to do real good in the euro champ! cuz face it, rio is a better defender than terry and campbell and rio suit each other well even if they play for rivals...
-
the FA are a bunch of fuckin retards... 8 months is a friggin joke!!! >:(
-
it is nuts... i think they're out of touch. and over obsessed with driving the anti-drugs msg home so bad they're harming football
-
Why is it a joke? Oh, right! EURO 2004! That's the only reason?
-
i wonder if he can appeal the decsion

They asked 3 years for Kallon (Inter) and Blasi (Parma), here in Italy. Just to let you know. Cause they are positive to nandrolone (like Davids, Stam, De Boer..).
-
yeah thats a bit different tho.. rio claims he forgot... he tested negative a short time later..

man u + rio already are :)

Oh, i didnt know this "detail". So you are saying he was been selected to make test, but he forgot to do it? Mmm.. :-X
ImO he has to be punished like if he's positive. But even in this case, 8 months are too much. I mean Davids took 3-4 months for nandrolone. Stam too. De Boer took 3 months, if i remember well. 8 months are too much. But hey, they're starting to breaking the balls about doping, man! I told you: they've asked 3 years for Kallon (Inter) and Blasi (Parma). 3 YEARS! For nandrolone. That's too much!
-
I dont understand tho.
As soon as he heard that he has missed the test he went and done it like and he never tested positive, so whats the big deal. Hes only human right? If he would of failed the test then its another matter but he couldent of taken any drug that wudda been outter his system in that short space of time surly.

Four months would have been more accurate.
This is a blow towards Man Utd winning the title.
-
8 months... he could have gotten 2 YEARS.. so it's not really that bad.
The experts says he can easily get more than 8 months if he's appealing the decision..
-
Three months would have been more appropriate. The FA had to start setting an example over drugs, and unluckily for the player and his club Rio became the example. You can't just miss drugs tests - they have to be respected. There is no question Rio is drugs free, but what he did was stupid and irresponsible. Eight months - far too much. Especially when, like IMC said other players have tested positive and got half the sentence - and Negouai the crappy Man City flop signing - did the same thing and only got fined £2,000 and nothing else.
Footballing wise, we'll miss him because he is an absolute collossus in defence. The main reason why our defence transformed itself from a joke in 2001-2002 to currently the best in the Premiership and Europe. Wesley Brown is not good enough and too injury prone to lead the defence of a team challening for the Champions League and the Premier League. Fergie has huge faith in him however, so we'll see what happens.

"But at last the Mancs get harshly treated, and boy do they not like it. After 6 years of getting shitted on by the FA, its about time the mancs get some. They have to realise that they dont run this game. They can boss little old FA around, but they cant fuck with FIFA and Blatter.
Rio out of OT by this time next year. And who really gives a shit if he misses Euro 2004."
It was a suprisingly good message until this point.
If Rio leaves United in the next three years let alone one, I will kiss Steven Gerrard. Fergie has constructed his whole defence around him, and will not get rid of him for any money.
And please...give it a rest with the FA stuff. when are you going to accept that arsenal are simply more of a dirty team than United?
-
Rio gets no sympathy from me, he didn't even hold his hands up and say "I fucked up", instead he claims he's a mong and expects a let off.
Watch United appeal and whine their way through every court in the land, it'll be months before Rio even starts his ban.

I must have modified your post by accident when I was trying to do modify mine. Sorry.

strange how that man city player only got a 2 grand fine for missing a drugs test.
also that independant commision was a joke, there was nothing independant about it, they were all members of the FA.
