Quiks Groove 7 = Amazing
-
Pick up Rythm-al-ism or Safe + Sound... You really can't go wrong with either of those DJ Quik albums.
-
I can't believe I forgot to mention "Can't Go Wrong". That's definitely one of his best.
-
Who's DJ Quick?
-
^ hehe.. ;)
So Many Wayz.... man.. that shit bumps.. if you got subs or enough bass at home.. play it loud!
also Tonite, Safe+Sound.. straight funkeeeee..
from Suga Free's album...
Why U Bullsh**in
If You Stay Ready
The song 'Late Night' by pac was quik... is amazing.. theres an unreleased OG version with Quik and AMG actually rappin on it too.. very dope (the released version is on death row's Chronic 2000)
ohh and Truth Hurts - Addictive was quik.. some forget that one...
i'll say one thing... I find people who appreciate 'music' rather than beats like Quik.. and women seem to too. Quik's stuff is more funky and delicate than most IMO.. listen to safe+sound and rhythmalism for his best work.
-
Who's DJ Quick?

Mausberg - The Truth is
The pianos and guitars at the end are amazing. What other producer makes music like that?
King Tee feat Kid Frost, DJ Quik - Let's Make a V
Another amazing musical piece again with the guitars and piano and the beat switches up into a salsa beat during Kid Frost's verse. Brilliant.
Sugafree - Tip Toe Reprise
My god this beat is just ridiculous. The screaming guitar solo by Robert Bacon is money and listen to how the drums are arranged. They sound live. Also the piano chords, the main melody, this is a stroke of genious. Mozart would be proud.
Quik's Groove VI
The saxophone and guitar are off the hinges here.
Get At Me
The first track on Safe and Sound. This is sampling at its best, with the multilayering of the samples and the added scratches. The baseline is ridiculous.
Tonite
We've all heard it but geez this song is a decade ahead of it's time musically. The drums are much cleaner then drums were during that era and the groove and guitar at the end of the song were tight. No producer anywhere was doing anything like that production wise at the time. This beat was a trend-setter.
Da Fam - I like
Quik got some help from El Debarge playing the piano but still, this track is a masterpiece. The rhythm and melody are just bananas. It defies description.
Other favorite Quik tracks:
Big Syke - Time is Money
Truth Hurts - I'm not really looking
Kam - He produced a track on his second album, can't think of the name
Several tracks on the Konnektid project. I think Saccs produced "Shut Up" but Quik may have done it, I can't tell
Change the Game (Balance and Options album)
Divorce Song feat El Debarge
Speed
Bom Bud
Pitch in on a Party
Mausberg - Get Nekked

-
Kam - He produced a track on his second album, can't think of the name
Its called "That's My Nigga" (dope track BTW)
everything that was mentioned above, plus the unreleased Masterpiece, "Felonz", which is my favorite Quik beat
