but like u said............it was written is a sick as fuck cd man...........if any other nigga released that as a debut cd........it would be considered classic..........but since its a followup to illmatic.......imma say, its a 4.5/5 cd............the cd is to dope

I don't agree, but it was a tight album, I don't understand why people hate on it, I guess it's what happened to Snoop on "Doggfather", the first album was too much of a classic. Only bad album Nas made IMO is "Nastradamus"

Message is one of my all time fav tracks btw...didn't know the original was by the police

I'll still give Illmatic the edge of It Was Written although I liked the production of It Was Written a little more. IMO, Stillmatic is Nas's best LP.
