Anyone else like this movie? I thought it was one of the best movies I've ever seen, very detailed and the like. There were a few innacuracies but overall wasn't too off. It's long (3 hours 40 minutes) so if you have a short attention span it's not for you. Also, it's a little old (1956) so the special effects are so-so by today's standards.
Anyways drop your thoughts on this movie.

Never seen it...Sounds interesting tho.

one of the greatest movies of all time. They really did the bible justice in my opinion, they did it as best as it could possibly be done. of course it's not perfect and has inacuracies, but any movie like this would. Some of the scenes really, really make you feel the strength and the power of the story. Amazing movie.

P.s., to this day, just thinking about the scene with Moses standing at the red sea, when the clouds start to swirl and the sky turns black gives me shivers.

seen it years ago, i try to stay away from religious stuff now

Sure. It's the story in the book of Exodus about how Moses, an ancient prophet in the bible, was in line to be an Egyptian Prince, then was shown that actually he was a jew, which were at the time slaves to the Egyptians. He vowed to set his people (the jews) free, and was a great prophet, his faith in God was so strong, that God actually gave Moses the power to act in his stead, he performed many miracles, for instance he freed all of the Jews inprisoned by the Egyptians by basically blackmailing the Pharoah with plagues, the final plague was Moses had the lord kill the first born of all of the Egyptians, even the Pharoah's son. Moses was chased out of Egypt by the Egyptians, with all of the jews, and came up to a great sea, the Red Sea. Moses, using his faith in God, knew that God would allow the Jews to escape to safety, so he simply turned to the Sea and waved the waters aside, the sea parted, and the Jews crossed the dry ocean bed, while a pillar of fire held the Egyptian army back. When the Jews made it to the other side, the pillar of fire dissapeared, the Egyptians chased into the sea, and Moses brought the waters back down upon them, killing the entire army in 1 moment. The Jews then went on to wonder in the wilderness of the desert for 40 years, looking for the land of their own that God had promised them. During the 40 years, Moses led them and performed many miracles, the sky rained bread, rocks spewed water, etc. etc.... one of his greatest accomplishments was, he climbed Mt. Sinai, and actually met and talked face to face with God, God presented him with the 10 commandments he wished every son of God to live by,
1. Thou Shalt have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not take the name of the lord thy god in vain.
3. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
4. Honour thy father and thy mother
5. Thou shalt not kill.
6. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
7. Thou shalt not steal.
8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods.
There's also a little confusion, some people put the last 2 as one, and say that another was "Thou shalt have no graven images", which I see as part of 1. So you can kind of have 2 different lists.
Christ @ one point was asked which was the most important commandment, and he said that the entire bible hinged upon "1. Love Thy God, 2. Love Thy Neighbor". Christ was quite an interesting fellow, very intelligent.

Was The Ten Commandments the one with Charlton Heston? If it was then I seen it (a long time ago though, I was a kid. Can't remember anything about it). Correct me if I'm wrong.
