Title: Nas To Release Three Albums This Year?
Post by: On The Edge of Insanity on January 22, 2004, 01:44:23 AM
From hiphopsite:

Quote
While numerous release dates have surfaced in regard to the release of Nas' Lost Tapes 2, nothing has been confirmed. However, in 2004, look for Nas to apparently release three, yes that's right, three LP's!! First, on the menu will be Lost Tapes 2, then a conventional follow-up to God's Son in the summer, followed by Nasir, a ten-track endeavor which will see Nas handle everything for delf; no guest appearances and though he has produced a few tracks in the past ("One Mic" & "Get Down") with the help of more seasoned beat-makers, Nasir will be the first effort where Nas handles all of the production duties. Look for Nasir to be released in the fourth-quarter of 2004. - Matt Conaway

Could be dope, if they all quality releases. Still not sure about him producing for himself though, but you never know it could turn out good.

damn i like the idea of a 10 track cd...that means there's no room to release any garbage, that's got me lookin foward to it, peace.

I had that thought too, last time he released 2 Lp's in one year it wasn't really a great success. Lost Tapes is older shit, so that's 2 new releases, I hope they're both gonna be dope...he can produce ("Get Down" was a dope song), but he should take his time. I like the idea of a 10 track album tho, also cuz I still think "Illmatic" is maybe the dopest album ever

i also like the idea that its 100% nas.. beats n all... maybe he wants to get into the beat making circuit in his old age... lol

Sounds good, other than the idea of Nas producing his own shit.

i'd like to see nas actually do this. 3 albums? i don't think this is true. prolly a rumor. But anyway, if he pulled it off, this would put him on top of hip hop. Nas hasn't disappointed since Nastradamus, and there are some really dope unreleased tracks he can use for the lost tapes. He can produce, too. One Mic was one of the beset songs of 2001 period. Get down was taken from the movie "lock stock and 2 smokin' barrels", but nas made it even better with the flow. that song is pure heat. didn't he also produce "got yourself a gun"?
