WHAT IS THE BEST VERSE ANYONE HAS EVER SPIT? I KNOW IT'S 2PAC, BUT BE MORE SPECIFIC. MY FAVORITE (THOUGH THERE ARE WAY TWO MANY THAT ARE CLOSE) IS BELOW:
"I HEARD RUMORS I DIED
MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD TRAMATISED
PICTURES OF ME AND MY FINAL STAGES, YOU KNOW MAMA CRIED,
BUT THAT WAS FICTION, SOMEBODY GOT THEIR STORY TWISTED,
LIKE I NO LONGER EXISTED, MYSTERIOUSLY MISSIN"

one of my favorites is knoc's verse in bang bang.... his flow is on point on that track...
Late nights is full of led that whistles as it goes by
Murder arrives, anytime
Bullets take flight when the fo'-five ignites
Some hearts skip a beat, some get blew out, and every light
put you in the site of youngsters with automatics
Bustin on shit to lay everything down even tourists and non-affiliates
These days, gun play is official with green lights on every block
Know the sign tells you too it's not best to stop
On every corner, Cali niggaz are dumpin
You'll be shakin your soul loose from the box at the coroner's
Makin death not so foreign to ya
Niggaz got Rugers and M-14's with enough,
ammo to leave an armored truck swiss cheese
I've learned to stay away from house parties
I've seen too many go and end up absent without leavin
Ain't no, warm welcomings, my eyes have witnessed the bend in on
Nights that don't sleep, and fireworks until dawn
theres definitely more out there tho........

Kurupt verses on "new york new york" and "what would you do"
and this here...
"Recognize game when it's all in yo face off safety
Close range with a mask on when I'm not dead shoot
Out the window of a coup
Dump wit the vest I swoop
To the spot, to law low from the do-low
Put my gun away, cuz they got done away
By a rather pull a trigga type nigga
See the stages off mic
And shootin gauges off bikes
It's like, livin and dyin
While laughin and cryin
In the same breath, U gain less
Messin in the lex
And I'm stressing for real
Unless U feel
That U strong enough, to go long enough
It ain't nothing but a thang
Nigga can u hang I bang
Similar to a gang
Hit U up, and on the mic I ain't nothing nice
I leave U wit yo mental disturbed
Sellin cabbage, smoking chronic on the curb
Hoppin at my boys about them dallaz
And impalas wit the switches
Still lovin none of ya hoes
Trustin none of ya bitches
Cuz the key is to see through the trickz in they set
Life is like craps
I hit, niggaz bet"

Coo verses, those are all tite, at least no one said "jay - z big pimpin" lol. I also like the 2pac Bomb First verse, I think that is one of the cleanest verses as well, but again there are so many. WESTSIDE 4 LIFe!

Yeah, Pac's verse on "Bomb First" was the shit. DJ Quik has a lot of dope ones too. My favorite, though, is Tray Deee's last verse on "Hard Timez On Planet Earth". That shit was brilliant. ;D ;D
-
Yeah Dj Quik had countless of classic verses...one that comes to my mind is "Tonite"
"Yo, a day in the life of a player named Quik
I'm just a stubborn kind of fellow with a head like a brick
And just because I drink the 8, they say that I'm hopeless
But I don't give a fuck, so blame it on the loc-est
Now this is how we do it when we checkin a grip
Teddy Bear's in the house, so don't even trip
We're bustin funky compositions as smooth as a prism
So check it while I kick it to this funky ass rhythm"
Sly Boogy had some tight verses on "judgement day"....like "Fucwitdis" or "Walk With My Dogs"
im finnnnnna walk with my doggz

Rakim - Paid In Full
"Thinkin of a master plan
Cuz ain't nuthin but sweat inside my hand
So I dig into my pocket, all my money is spent
So I dig deeper but still comin up with lint
So I start my mission- leave my residence
Thinkin how could I get some dead presidents
I need money, I used to be a stick-up kid
So I think of all the devious things I did
I used to roll up, this is a hold up, ain't nuthin funny
Stop smiling, be still, don't nuthin move but the money
But now I learned to earn cos I'm righteous
I feel great! so maybe I might just
Search for a 9 to 5, if I strive
Then maybe I'll stay alive
So I walk up the street whistlin this
Feelin out of place cos, man, do I miss
A pen and a paper, a stereo, a tape of
Me and Eric B, and a nice big plate of
Fish, which is my favorite dish
But without no money it's still a wish
Cos I don't like to dream about gettin paid
So I dig into the books of the rhymes that I made
To now test to see if I got pull
Hit the studio, cos I'm paid in full"
CL Smooth - TROY (first verse)
"I reminisce for a spell, or shall I say think back
22 years ago to keep it on track
The birth of a child on the 8th of October
A toast but my granddaddy came sober
Countin all the fingers and the toes
Now I suppose, you hope the little black boy grows, huh
18 years younger than my mama
But I really got beatings cause the girl loved drama
In single parenthood there I stood
By the time she was 21, had another one
This one's a girl, let's name her Pam
Same father as the first but you don't give a damn
Irresponsible, plain not thinking
Papa said chill but the brother keep winking
Still he won't down you or tear out your hide
On your side while the baby maker slide
But mama got wise to the game
The youngest of five kids, hon here it is
After 10 years without no spouse
Momma's gettin married in the house
Listen, positive over negative for the women and master
Mother Queen's risin a chapter
Deja vu, tell you what I'm gonna do
When they reminisce over you, my God"
Pharoahe Monch - Oh No
"Very contagious raps should be trapped in cages
Through stages of wackness, Pharoahe's raps are blazin
And it amazes - me how you claim thug
but go two-ways without SkyTel pagers
I'm intellectual, pass more essays/ese's
than motorcade police parades through East L.A.
More beef then deli's, thus what I vent is just
What you lust to vent is irrele'
Huh, hallelujah, Pharoahe Monch'll do ya
Maintain the same frame of mind - screw ya!
Get the picture, sit ya, seat ya, preacher with scriptures
I'm equipped to rip ya, reach ya
Pharoahe and Mos is verbal osmosis
Coast to coast, we boast to be the most explosive here
Ferocious, the lyrical prognosis
The dosage is leavin you mentally unfocused here
MC's just - come on 'round
You're the next contestants on "Catch-A-Beat-Down"
Don't be hesitant, sound cracks the sediment
It's evident we medicine for your whole town
Sky's the limit, game's infinite when I'm in it
All windows is tinted, how you seein me when I'm in it?
Rap, we got it on lock man, stop that
Put that mic back down, boy, drop that
Pharoahe's flows blows shows like afros
We hate y'all though, that's why Nate Dogg goes:"

Might have to give it to Nas. He had sum incredible ones, like both on "Memory Lane", also shit like "NY State Of Mind", "It Ain't Hard To Tell" or "The Message". The one that amazed me most when i 1st heard it was on "Verbal Intercourse":
"Through the lights cameras and action, glamour glitters and gold
I unfold the scroll, plant seeds to stampede the globe
When I'm deceased, by then the beast arise like yeast
to conquer peace leaving savages to roam in the streets
Live on the run, police paying me to give in my gun
Trick my Wisdom, with the system that imprisoned my son
Smoke a gold leaf I hold heat, nonchalantly
I'm grungy, but things I do is real it never haunts me
while, funny style niggaz roll in the pile
Rooster heads profile on a bus to Riker's Isle
Holdin weed inside they pussy with they minds on the
pretty things in life, props is a true thug's wife
It's like a cycle, niggaz come home, some'll go in
Do a bullet, come back, do the same shit again
From the womb to the tomb, presume the unpredictable
Guns salute life, rapidly, that's the ritual"
others
Pharoahe Monch - Oh No and World War III
Mos Def - Mathematics (the way he throws in numbers, flows AND delivers the message is kinda amazing)
Prodigy - Shook Ones Pt. II (sum of the grimiest shit ever spit)
Rakim - Paid In Full
Ill Bill - Futurama (opening verse, sick as fuck)
Cormega - The True Meaning (2nd verse)
-
Canibus- Beasts From The East
that was the craziest verse when it was released, people were going ape shit when they heard that shit, peace.
damn i thought i was gonna be the only one to say that this verse was the sickest of all time, but looks like dude beat me to it.
i'd also say that almost any pac verse contends.
