ive always wondered wat dat beat might be to in the end of the cali love video when pac is dreaming and its also in the begining of the remix video when pac is in bed still.......its playing in his (pac) dream.....but stops playing once he wakes up......u can definately tell its a Dr. Dre beat jus by the bass and the piano keys in it....sounds hella dope....i wonder if it was a beat to another song that never got released like the original Lady Heroin dats playing in the background when dre is talkin on da phone to pac......does ne one else notice and thnk da same.....CHUUUCH!!!
-
Yeah, I was wondering about this shit too. Does anyone have that beat? Someone should loop it.
-
It might be the beat to the orginal Blunt Time, which was really the only beat Dre made for 2Pac. After all, California Love was for himself, and U Can't C Me was for him and Ice Cube.
-
the Blunt Time beat was for 2pac? i never knew that, but thats a tite beat
-
m dogg, i think its fuckin great youre reppin LWO. la viva la rassa!
-
wasnt Cali Love sopposed to hav Cube on it as well but suge deleted his vocals off it and asked pac to drop sum heat........i read dat in a book....personally i think it woulda been an even more classic song if cube was on it too......CHUUUCH!!!! 8)
-
there was the lady heroin unreleased track in the back while they´re on the phone but there was also a version where u can hear slip n slide by danny boy in the background insted of lady heroin. dunno why they switched that background track. dunno about that other beat while pac was dreamin. i got that on a inoffical 12" tho. itz dope.
-
you got what on a inofficial 12'????
-
California Love: 2Pac, Dre & Ice Cube! OH DAMN!!! Cant believe it! :o
-
i might be wrong.....its been awhile since i read dat book but actually i think DRE meant to hav just him and cube on it but he (dre) didnt hav enough songs for his new album on deathrow and suge saw dat dre had a hot beat (track) but no album to put it on so he saw to it dat cali love be put on Pacs album seeing how all eyes on me was gonna be released soon.....personally if dats true i dont know why he had to delete cubes verses.....oh well i guess will never know.....chuuuch!!!! 8)
-
Nah... Cali Love never had Ice Cube. It was suppose to be on the Chronic 2. But Suge heard it, and wanted 'Pac to have a huge single to start his Death Row stay, so he ask Dre to take his second verse off and add 2Pac. U Can't C Me was for Dre and Ice Cube.
-
U can't C me was passed about. Was originally for the Heltah Skelta album, then Dogg Food, then finally on 2Pac's released. It's an old track. As for the track at the start of the California Love video (although Dre's name's on it) I think you'll find indeed - that it was Sam Sneed who produced that, dre who mixed it. Dre & Sneed worked together. I think Dre had about 4 or 5 tracks for the 2Pac project when Pac came to tha row. There was problems with artists already before 2Pac even stepped through the door.
I prefer the remix video to california Love. Cost less money to make and it turned out better in my opinion and stuck with the title. Good to see DJ Quik in the video too
-
WORD dat was sneed who made dat beat.....dats tite...too bad he didnt give it to ne body to rap on......its also too bad he didnt stick wit dre.....those two makin beats together were just as good of a pairing as Dre & Mel-Man....if not even better cuz dre's and sneeds shit sounded like da shit dre made during chronic and doggystyle.......and about dat doggpound Cant See Me for doggfood.....HOLY shit coulda been flames of a album......although doggfood is definately CLASSIC ISH....but i think it coulda been even better wit da cant c me beat on it......same with "what would you do" bein on doggfood.....those 2 tracks along with "Niggaz dont give a fuck" from poetic justice soundtrack included on Doggfood definately woulda been FUCKING AWESOME.......i guess when i get my hands on sum 90 minute CDR'S i will make my own Doggfood version wit dem tracks.....CHUUUCH!!! 8)
-
There is rumor that california love was supposed to be dre n cube thats fo sho...
...that was before pac went on the vocals...when helter skelter was gonna be the upcoming project from the both of them...we talking like 95 here as i remember...
-
WORD MAH NIGGA.......but i always thought cali love was gonna be on dres second album for da row.......CHUUUCH!!! 8)
-
Pac killed the track....
It's Pac's beat.
the rest is just rumor's & history.. ;D
No other artist could have done 4 any of those beat'z what was done 4 them by Shakur...

P.S. them beat's at the end of...
the video were off the hook.
u find a grip of those on the older Row video's..
& who can forget the Dance sequence on
"Been there done that" :o
-
Been There Done That wasn't on Tha Row. Dre had started Aftermath by then and the track came out on the Dr. Dre Presents - Aftermath CD.
But I feel you Hatesrats on the fact that Pac really blessed those beats, especially Cali Love. Shit's like the creme de la creme of classics the way it came out.
-
Y'all can find that Hidden Dre beat from the Cali Love Video on Kazaa as "California Love Super Remix" it should be 5:17 long
