What was the whole beef over between these 2? cuz ive heard some old school tracks from quick dissing eiht, what exactly was the twhole thing about? did they settle it?
-
back before either were really popular, eiht thought that quik dissed him on some underground tape. so eiht got pissed about that, but apparently quik never even knew who eiht was, and he wasn't even dissin him. And then I think Eiht was the first one to diss on an actual album that got released, and then they went back and forth with diss songs.
-
wasnt NWA the first one to diss on an actual album in 88 when eazy was dissin some guy on Eazy-er Said Than Dunn and on Straight Outta Compton and 100 miles and Running
-
I mean eiht was the first to diss on an actual album between him and quik. beef on wax started way before nwa, but I don't know anything about it.

KRS-One and MC Shan were the first MCs to ever diss on albums, I for got which one was release first, but KSR-One had The Bridge is Over and South Bronx on Criminal Minded, and MC Shan had Kill That Noice on Down By Law back in 1986
Anyways, when both were underground, DJ Quik gave a shot out to all the rappers in Compton, calling out everbody to give shot outs. He never mentioned MC Eiht, which Eiht took it as a diss. Quik never knew Eiht, so he was thrown off guard. Eiht was the first one to swing on an actual released album with Def Wish. From there it took of, with Eiht releasing 3 more Def Wishes, and Quik release 4 songs dissing Eiht. Of course, I think the feud peeked with Dollas and Sense, that song was just off the chains. One of the greatest diss songs ever.

All I know is Quik murdered dude on "Dollaz + Sense"

krs one vs mc shan was before that roxanne/roxanne shante/utfo beef? nah. that roxanne shit predates krs iirc.

Quik shouted out CMW on his underground tape, Eiht thought it was a diss. Quik plays that part on Let U Have It (I think) and it's something like "Looking from the trees where CMW's at" or something like that. One of the best beefs of all time as far as quality music goes.
-
Quik said "On the top of the tree for CMW to see".
I'm bumpin Let U Have It right now & I cranked it up at the part with the underground tape sample.

They did accualy squash it on Live in L.A. publicly snoop was there too I got it taped they cool now remember the episode (for those who Cought the Show) when they talked about homie court an quik said me and this man used to be at it we finnaly sat down and sqaushed it...

Yeah, that's how it went down. DJ Slip said the same in a topic about his on the IV Life board.
