Brian, my name is Brian, I have everything Brian needs, he's in his community, with other people named Brian, Jeremy, Josh, Brad, Brett, etc.... I have some money, a place to stay, and the oppurtunity to get an "education." Brian is not justified in demanding any more from his life.
I change my name to Abraham. I now trace myself and my connection to the world back to Abraham. I now demand more from my life, and I now see are far greater potential for myself, that is more global. Since everyone from Christians to Muslims to even Jews I believe can trace there spirituality back to Abraham.
Peace.

Abraham's a GANGSTA name. Look @ Lincoln. Gangsta.
I'd kinda like to be called Leonardo, or Simon. Both of those are cool names, LOL.

When I was in tha 7th Grade... I had this teacher, He was cool. Probably one of the coolest teachers I'd ever had. Thing is though, He is black and was born in Louisiana... in his early teens he moved to South Central L.A, California. His mom was really into her Cristianity but when he grew up he felt more comfortable with the Muslim Religion. He converted.. went the whole 9 yards.. moved to Africa for 2 years, sacrificed a goat, I think he was teaching in Saudi Arabia... Met his wife in college. they went on their Voyage together. He did that thing you guys do.. I dont know what you call it, It's like sacred or something though... they walk around it a grip of times and pray. He got deep into Islam.. he was like one of the main headds who got this mosque going out here..
Well yeah, Thing is.. he later changed his name.. .he changed it to Abraham Mubashire... not sure how you spell it. He would never tell us his birth name though.. he would refuse to. He was a cool ass teacher though.. really knoledgable and admirable.. you probably would have had alot in common with him.

Wow...... thanks for that story dogg..... that was dope.... I can really connect with that dude. Thanks patna. Anything else you want to say about him go ahead.... any certain teaching style he had? Did he speak often of Islam? Holler back.

Yeah, He was coo'.. He would alwayz be talking about islam.. that's all he would do. See, In 7th grade.. out here that's when we're supposed to learn about that anywayz.. so I guess he just kinda took advantage. He was real strict though.. the class thought he was coo' but at tha same showed him respect.
He had this thing.. every morning he would make us say some shit.. he'd start off by going "Good Morning Class"... and we'd all have to be like "Good Morning Mr Mubashire.. another day another opportunity...." I forgot tha rest but we'd have to do it everyday when class started..
He would use muslim words.. dont know tha name of tha language.. "Inshallah" (If God Will)... and he'd say something that sounded like "Bone".. I dont know.
I dont really know what to tell you.. he was a real respectable dude.. deep into his religion. He'd alwayz go to school wearing a khufi and a dashiki. When school started, kids couldn't pronounce his name, so they'd ask him if they can call him Mr. M... he'd get all mad, like "That's not my name, who's M?.. my name is Mubashire.. call me Mr. Mubashire".
He did the whole fasting thing. We watched him do it. He wouldn't eat all day long. At the end of tha year.. he prayed infront of us. That's pretty deep, he kinda shared that with us. Prayed towards tha East and everything.. we didn't know what he was saying though.. it was all in a different language. In Febuary, Black History Month... he held this assembly and talked to tha school about african culture. He showed us pictures on his projector of his trip to Mecca and Saudi Arabia.
I dont know what else... that's basically it. He was a cool teacher, probably tha most popular teacher in our school. That sucks though.. you probably deserved to have him as a teacher more than I did.. I dont really remember none of tha lessons he tried to teach us... I just get high everyday.

Word.. I never got to thank you for the second post you added explaining more in depth your memories of your teacher. It was interesting for me to note whether he was firm or loose with the class, etc., cause I may one day be a teacher.
And yes, Ibraheem is the same thing (person) as Abraham, Ibraheem is the Arabic pronounciation of Abraham.
