Title: Best Arabic/Indian/Oriental beat
Post by: Suffice on February 06, 2004, 01:27:37 AM
I can't think of a lot right now, but i think Jigga's "Hey papi", Truth Hurts' "Addictive" and Sean T's "Makin me High" are crazy. add Yukmouth - "be Easy"

Gotta Be "Addictive".  That beat was (and is) on a whole nother level.  I think just the way it was mixed made it so dope.

Eric B and Rakim - Paid in full

This chick I knew played the original song that they sampled for me and it's some Persian music. I tripped out when I heard it.

Do u mean the Seven Minutes of Madness remix? Cause I don't think the original had any indian elements in it.

No, I'm talking about the singing for the hook of the song and the vocals were lifted from some Persian artist's music. The original Paid in Full and the remix have that same vocal sample.

No it doesn't.  You are talking about the "Paid In Full (Seven Minutes Of Madness - The Cold Cut Remix)".
The original from Paid In Full is much shorter and doesn't have that vocal sample.

The chick that I know who has that original song told me it was Persian. I'll have to call her out on that one.
