Title: If Death Row really wanted to comeback it would....
Post by: M Dogg™ on February 06, 2004, 01:58:44 PM
Finally release all those old school tracks that have leaked. I'm talking about The OG Next Episod... OG Blunt Time by 'Pac, if that song is even real, Doggystyle, some 'Pac shit in it's orginial form, old school unreleased Dre, Snoop, if they got some, some Ice Cube. I mean Death Row could release that shit fans have been dying for, not no Nu Klassics Remixes, or whatever the fuck it was called. But if they never did it before, they would do it now. But still, that would be tight.

So you're suggesting that they make their come back by releasing old music?

Bad idea homie.

If they wanted to come back, Suge would have to stop doin stupid shiet & focus on the business. Like distribution, new staff, etc.

Bad news homie: Death Row CAN'T release OG unleaked Pac material. Now only Afeni can. And she's holding all the material for herself, obviously.

"Can't C Me" from the Dogg Pound, which was orginally a track with Ice Cube and Dr. Dre for the Helter Skelter album that never came to be. Then DPG wanted it on their album Dogg Food as the fist single.  But somebody (I won't name names!) decided that no Dre-produced track should appear on Dogg Food (Dre also did a remix of "Dogg Pound Gangstas" that was supposed to be on the album, which never saw the light of day), so the song was pulled, therefore this is a Dogg Food leftover. Then along comes 2Pac. After spending a day in the studio listening to tracks to be included on his All Eyez On Me album, he came across 3 Dre beats he liked: "Cant C me", "BluntTyme" (originally a song with 2Pac, Dre and Rage which later re-surfaced on the Aftermath compilation featuring RBX) and "Cali Love" which was orginally a solo song for Dre's new album The New World Odor: Papas Got a Brand New Funk. "Blynt Tyme" didn't make the final cut. But...after some persuasion Pac decided to go with "Cali Love" and "Cant C Me", so he erased the DPG vocals and Dre's second verse from those respective songs. In other words, you have a truly RARE song from the once-powerful Death Row Records. If and when the original "Cali Love" (with just Dre) and "Blunt Tyme" re-surface, they will immediately become collectors items. These are no speculations, just straight up facts. Thank Tony Best for the info and the song Cant C Me by the DPG, if it wasnt for him, none of us would have heard it.

IMO that's a bad idea. That's basically what they been doin' with Pac's shit. They can't just live in the past forever. Suge had his chance and blew it. they could've had a Deathrow compilation [better than Dysfunktional Family], Crooked I album, Eastwood album, Kurupt album, Danny Boy album, and Roscoe and Young Assassins album. If they dropped all those in about a year's span they could've done some big things. But nah, we hadta get 2pac Nu Mixx Klassikz.

suge will release them its just a matter of time and money.  I think all suge really cares about right now in terms of music, is to diss all the x inmates.

The good news is that if Suge releases any old Dre material, it has to be in it's original form.  He can't throw a new artist on there.

i doubt that he can release unheard death row dre material. dre sued suge cuz he wanted to release 4 dre tracks on the original chronic 2000. suge had to pull those tracks then.

Respect wasn't produced by Dre but it was Mixed by him (If I remeber right  :-\ )

And Suge releasing old material?? Easier said than done. Fact is - Suge can't release material from his older day just like that. He can't release anything new from 2Pac, Dr Dre, Daz, or a lot of the other big stars on the label. Dead Man Walkin was already a heavily bootleged item and was already all over the internet years before it's release.

If Suge really wants to make a success out of the label, then to stay fresh is the only way. Align himself with some hard working (drug-free) staff and have a bunch of hungry artists.

They are unreleased for a reason! Most of those tracks CAN'T be released. Some are because they could not clear the sample etc so it WILL NOT commercially ever see the light of day!

When will y'all realise that these tracks won't ever be released?! If they could they would have done a LONG time ago instead of bringing out stuff like Death Rows Greatest Hits Vol 1 & 2.

Plus if they wanted to make a COMEBACK they would not release tracks that are 10+ years OLD!!
