It's a better CD (notice I didn't say album/LP) than his first.

The album is off the hook. My only beeef with it is the weak beats, but L makes up for it.

Most of the cd is pretty tight, it ain't as ruff and dark as "Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous", but there's alot of dope songs, sum nice guest appearances and as for L's verses I like it even more than his debut....definitely worth buyin

And Sikotic, how were the beats weak on Big Picture, apart from maybe a couple.

I don't really like the beats either, production-wise "Livestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous" is better in my opinion, but lyrically L was probably better on "The Big Picture". Especially "Casualties Of A Dice Game" is... :o

I heard your single, you better make a whole new song
If they said that shit is hot, then they told you wrong
Clown niggas, you ain't got a chance at all
Big L Corleone, too advanced for y'all
8)

true, that or his verse on "Platinum Plus" he started with 17 oh-oh double rhymes. Or "The Enemy", my fav anti-cop verse ever. But IMO the sickest was "Ebonics", the combination of flowin, rhymin and explainin slang is pretty :o :o . I think he said it was no overnight shit himself...damn, this album is more than dope lyrically

yeah, but I was even more impressed wit "The Big Picture". L was the shit on nearly every song he spit on tho, that aggressive ass style he had on "Lifestylez" was tight too...my fav might be his "Graveyard" verse, Lord Finesse sounds lame after that lol

"the big picture" is a good cd! but if you haven't heard much from big l before, this is not the best cd to begin with. the album was released just after he got shot, with a collection of halfmade songs with some "madeup" featurings(like 2pac) that a record company quickly put together to make some money over this rapper's death. big l was really about to sign to rocafella records when he got shot, and was looking towards a uplift in his career with a big commercial breakthrough with jay-z&them... unfortunately  this did not happen.

i suggest you pick up his first album on columbia "livestylez ov da poor&dangerous", wich on another note features one of jay-z's first appearances on record!! the production on the album could be better, but it's a real nice album with one of the greatest rappers of all time, big l..
then he got alot of unreleased stuff that can be found on the net and on bootlegs. there is also alot of songs he made with his ditc-crew that are real good and worth checkin out! "the big picture" is really not the big picture of this man's career but it's still a good record..
too bad he got blasted away because if he woulda made an album with rocafella it could have become one of the dopest rap albums ever..

It's a fucking good album. Not as good as Livestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous, one of my favourite cds. Big L had one of the most dangerous flows and the most deadly lyrical content. His ealier tracks with showbiz are amazing.
