Eastcoast rap is very industrial with a little more mentality. The South is definetly rowdy, the midwest is more country... what does the west offer nowadays?

Old School feelin music, that feels like the early 80s, compared to the east and midwest that sounds more 60s and 70s with Kanye style tracks.
I mean I don't think it's much we offer than no other region does, but it's things we offer more of than the other coasts.

Here's a quote from him early in his career - "It's a shame, rappers only in the game for the money and the fame".
However few years later, gets Dre on his music, works with Snoop etc. and doesn't have the people who originally appeared on his first LP.
Realness aint got nothing to do with being able to pick up a gun, get into brawls and rap about it. Realness is much more than that, to be honest with yourself, respect and loyalty is a main ingrediant to being real.
& there's many others like him on the West Coast as well as the East Coast. I aint picking sides!!

Plus Tha liks,Thayod,Defari & King T were on Restless.Ras Kass and Saafir were on Man Vs Machine.All of them cats were on At The Speed Of Life and your saying he didn't have any1 from his 1st album on his last albums.Plus.people after a while start doing their own things,that's what Xzibit is doing wit Strong Arm Steady.

On the West of course we got that funk that no one can really duplicate, plus I love how the West stays fan friendly. What the fuck do you have if you aint got no fans? I've met WC, DJ Crazy Toones, Black Eyed Peas and Chali2na from Jurassic 5 and they're cool as fuck. When I saw Quik perform, he was pouring liquor for folks, he threw away an Outkast outfit to the crowd and some other stuff. Shit was just cool and the gang.
Another thing I like about the west is musically, it's so far above everything that has ever been done in hip hop musically. The west was the first to use the funk, the first to use melodic synthesized riffs, the first to use live instruments. West coast producers and DJ's have always been a step ahead and at the cutting edge musically. Also the west coast brought a sense of realness, when Too $hort, NWA and Ice-T stepped on the scene.

Oh yeh like firing his own Keyboard engineer (who were good friends) for Scott Storch (Aftermath Keyboard player) & I don't recall seeing the Alkaholiks, Saafir, E-Swift, & others too on Man V Machine or Restless!!!. I aint got no problem with somebody blowing up but leaving out your closest friends turning your back on the ones you came up with - that aint real!! & Having a ryhme that says "It's a shame, N*** Only in the game for the money & the fame" will always be a line to haunt him. If I was a rapper I certainly wouldnt be stupid enough to have those words escape my mouth, & then sign sponsership deals feel me, but Xzibit's a good lyricist but Real?? Hahaha no, no he aint real.

West Coast is influenced from P-Funk and Roger RIP...so of course its gotta be funky. Laid back and chill too. Like juronimo said the producers are cutting edge. West Coast artists may not have love for each other but they got love for the fans.

The first ones to 'recycle' were from the west cause guess where hiphop started. there's a couple e/c artists who do bite w/c, the cali lifestyle's become popular and it's bitten quite often but if u think the whole east is all about bitin the west i feel sorry for you
anyways, every coast offers sumthin others don't...there's phony ass cats everywhere. the west's put out sum of the dopest albums in rap history just like the east and the south...generally the w/c got a more layed-back style, more melodic beats with more funky samples and it's most "gangsta", cuz even tho there's just as much crime and violence in other regions the west is still where the Bloods & Crips are from. Don't go for every artist from the west of course

Oh yeh without a doubt, X got talent. He can definitly spit a rhyme. I aint judging his talents cause he got it. I'm just saying he aint no gang banger, or doesn't roll with gangsters. That doesn't mean he aint real because of that, but leaving out your friends and selling out to dre IS - which wouldnt be classed as selling out if he didnt make such a big deal before about OTHER rappers who were only in the game for money and fame etc. He does the exact same thing only 2 years later.
If only he didn't release the song "Papparazi". SHakur even gave EDI a verse to spit on his last LP about Xzibit.

Personally aside from the Liks and Ras and maybe the odd one or 2 other mcs i have no interest in the west. I find it boring and theres too much time put into production and little time in lyrical content.

That seems to be the stereotype that people outside of the West have about the West. Thats why lately I've been loving that Quik song "What They Think Of You" lately...if yall havent heard it, check it out, it really sums things up.
