I mean, u got Dr Dre one of the best producers in the game with new artists like Knoc-turnal, Eminem etc. on there including the older era like Snoop & Nate. aid from Hittman and even older reunion type shyt with mc ren. Everything seemed consistant.
You've got the Death Row chronic which had the dpg dogg pound, soopafly. A a gang of new young artists, rap & r&b on one album -> kc, michel'le danny boy etc. and a few 2pac tracks as a bonus. OG's like scarface.
Both had Kurupt!!

no contest..
-
For me its got to be Chronic 2000
LOL, just kidding. Chronic 2001 by a country mile.
-
Like Seer said, no contest.
Listened to Chronic 2000 again a couple of weeks ago, and I'm not being over-the-top here - I actually found it pretty depressing even to sit through. There are very few redeeming features on it...
... oh, and when I got to the last few tracks on disc 2 it started skipping badly - so much that the player couldn;t even read into the final two tracks.
I didn't bother cleaning it.
-
2001 contender for best hiphop album ever
every track is perfect even the skits are good lol
and the guests are just perfect with a little east a little south and a whole lot of west coast funk 8)
-
please tell me you're not serious..the person who voted for chronic 2OOO should be slapped
-

:-[
-
lmao @ 18% voting for 2000 so far
-
CHRONIC in dis bitch
-
someone else voted for DRs one too :o
-
I voted the OG Chronic.... 8)
-
not Dre OG chronic... the vote is between the aftermath dre 2001 one, and the chronic 2000 deathrow compilation....
i guess some of these votes screwed then
-
I think Dr Dre's chronic is more of a raw hot album with brilliant production. Death Row's chronic is more of an introduction to new talent and a celebration of the label itself!
-
i understand ppl comparing 2001 to the chronic, doggystle, safe+sound or rhythmalism but wtf is this.....jus coz they have similar titles u gotta compare them.....this is a fucking insult >:(
peace
-
Who ever picked chronic 2000 is smoking some serious rock
-
please tell me you're not serious..the person who voted for chronic 2OOO should be slapped

-
Why even have a poll like this?
-
just broke out my copy of chronic 2000... bumpin loud :)
man.. still think this the best thing they did for a long time.. tgfr nearly got there... dysfunktional.. well erm.. lived up to its name
-
Illmatic or Nastradamus? ::)
-
no contest fo real. not compareable IMO
-
Only Death Row die-hard fans will vote for "2000", because "2001" was one of the best releases ever hands down.
-
lol 5 votes for Chronic 2000. I hope at least 5 of them cats mixed it up with the original Chronic
-
dres 2001
even though i think "suge knight represents......" is a great compilation with many tight tracks by swoop g, tha dogg pound, michelle
-
2001, easily. Though, I think the beat to We Don't Love 'Em destroys every beat on Dre's album. There are too many wack ass songs on Suge's comp. for it to be better.
-
the man saying suges version is better do us a favor
go hang yourself after suge gives you a ulsur

Definitely agreed, that song is straight heat.

Chronic 2001 -->
Good Points: Brilliant album. Brought Dre back to the #1 spot and had the attention from others in the game with this release. Brought in a bunch of new acts to work on the project and label, seemed to listen to what the public wanted to hear - massive improvement from the aftermath compilation. Kept the flow of the album, was consistent in order etc. Skits (although loved by few hated by many) seemed to fit in well in the right places. A brillaintly made album with many star tracks
Bad Points: Not a lot in variation of production. 90% of the tracks had the same drum pattern, or bass line.
Chronic 2000 --> Good Points: Very big mixture in talent, young fresh acts, older acts like scarface, dpg clique, classic 2pac, & r&b all on one album. Easy distinction in change of production, had a mixture of different beats of many different styles. Perhaps the last original sounding Death Row Cd to ever be released from the label.
Bad Points: slight skits where they are not needed, a few tracks shouldnt have been on there like realest & top dogg's they wanna be like us. Tha Realest shouldn't have got so many of his tracks put on the album (although Top Dogg's We Don't luv em was dope) but a few notches and this could have been a really hot album rather than just warm.
Vote: Chronic 2000 ;D
-
i can't believe anybody voted for chronic 2000
the guy above me made a review for 2001 sound better and still voted for 2000, slap yourself...
2000 had alot of dope tracks on it but it wasn't fucken with 2001
i remember when 2000 came out it said new tracks by dr.dre and snoop and since that was false advertising you were aloud to bring the album back and get a full refund, i know alot of people who burned it and brought it back too, lol...i actually kept mine though cause i still thought it was pretty hot, peace.

'Chronic 2000' was just another pathetic attempt by Suge to eat off of one of his former artists. Come on now, it was obvious he was trying to market that compilation as a new Dre record. After all, its all in the name...
'Chronic 2001' (the REAL follow-up) wins this contest hands down. It didn't have much competition, but it helps that it was also a damn good album.
