Basically, what coasts are battling it out for the top spot in Rap? I'm not talking about beef. I'm talking about music vs music. Who's bringing it best? Of course the east gets all the love, so that's why their in every answer. Comment on what you think to.

i say its westcoast vs eastcoast still rockin the house
-
ive always thought east was the best...west pretty well went out with deathrow. though i like westcoast shit it just doesnt satisfy me as much as east....
though the south is really comin up in the game...lil jon is one of the most sought after producers, then we got good artists like nappy roots, z-ro, and TI droppin some dope shit too.
-
I don't really think there's any kind of rivalry going on right now, it's all respectful, so I don't think people really listen and even consciously pay attention to where the music is from.

whats that quote SGV has in his sig? one of the westcoast artists (the game i think? i cant remember) talkin bout "East Coast Dick Lickin"...i rarely hear an eastcoast artist say anything bad about the west but we get a few of these east hating comments by westcoast artists thats for sure.
-
heres the quote:
Signature:
"The problem is, too much East Coast dick lickin'"-The Game
Songs with 50, Banks, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana? A self proclaimed "Yonkers Flow"? Yea, East Coast dick lickin' is a problem he has.
-
Maybe the dumbass "artists" who think it's still 95 have a problem with where people are from, I'm talking from a fan's perspective, I think most mature people that listen to the music don't even give a shit where it comes from. Nobody's saying "Damn, eastcoast music is so much better!" they're just saying "I like that new Jay Z album"....

yeah ill agree with that...i really could care less...if its dope its dope. but i do think some artists are still a little bitter towards the east which is sad...it started out about the music it should continue to be about the music.

No, Whatevers Hot is Hot
-
Still Tha West
-
The South and Mid-West is running it sales-wise.
The East is bringing the best product.
The West has the best underground.
-
sums it up^
there's pretty much mutual respect in the industry....on the streets, well, let's just say it's very different.....
-
I don't really care where an artist is from if their music is dope.
Having said that I tend to check out more East cats than West, simply because I in general enjoy the sound of the east coast more these days than the west. I hardly check the south at all cause I know that there isn't really anything down there that I would enjoy. As of course I gotta be checking some UK hiphop.

The rivalry is old news. Whatever is dope, simple as dat.
-
Luke. You don't understand my quote.
I'm exposing The Game's hypocritical views.
He went from saying: "The problem is, too much East Coast dick lickin'"
To making: Songs with 50, Banks, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana?
Having: A self proclaimed "Yonkers Flow"?
So I said: Yea, East Coast dick lickin' is a problem he(He being The Game) has.
-
I don't think there's any kind of rivalry going on right now...I see people from every coast collaborating with each other. It would be cool if things went a little better for the West Coast, but for Hip-Hop in general: it's a great time 8)

I Only Like A Few East Coast Artists Now (Nas, D-Block & A Few Others)
And Some South Like Outkast & The Funky Stuff.
I Think A Lot Of People On The East Have A Very Narrow View Of The West Coast & They Dont Take The Time To Listen To It (Crafty U Know Who Im Talkin Bout)
