Title: Quik Production on The New Testament
Post by: Eddie G. on March 03, 2004, 07:54:59 PM
Not as many tracks as I thought sound like a Quik production at all on this new Suga Free CD.

Tracks I Know Quik produced:
Angry Enuff
Don't Fight The Pimpin (which shouldn't count since he used the same beat before)

Tracks I think Quik produced:
Thinkin
Did I Do Dat
Pay Me (Maybe)
She Get What She Pay Fo
Circus Music

Maybe thats 7 tracks, but I thought he was gonna produce the whole thing.  Don't get me wrong, the CD is dope and the other producers (Saccs, etc.) did a great job with this CD, but it seems like a Quik production is getting really hard to find to find these days.  In fact, some of the standout tracks (High Heels, Get Loose) aren't Quik productions, which I find ironic on a CD that was thought to be Quik-influenced.

I heard the album(couldn't resist ;D)and I disagree. The songs that stand-out to me are "Circus Music", "Thinkin" & "Why U Bullshittin' Pt. 2".

"Circus Music" and "Thinkin" were standout tracks to me as well, along with "Did I Do Dat", I was just commenting that some of the standout tracks were some of the non-Quik tracks too.

Oh, alright. I misunderstood you. The only thing that disappointed me with this album is Suga Free's lyrics. Quik & Saccs came correct on the beats, but Free just wasn't as funny as he could be. His best lyrical song on the album is "Why U Bullshittin' Part 2". He went off on that one. ;D

Suga Free said that Quik produced the whole album except for 2 or 3 tracks (which are produced by Saccs), so I really doubt he only did 7. But I cant comment on that cause I havent heard it yet (till Tuesday)

Not at all, I was just tryin to say that this album still shines without the Quik production.
