i agree - it's hard to say that anything that's negative, (like gangsta rap), could be timeless. music with a lasting message is something i never get tired of...
i'd add some arrested development tracks in there like 'people everyday' and 'dawn of the dreads' and 'natural.' i'd say that i never really get sick of any of pac's cds, but i don't listen to them all that much...
and that nickatina song, ayo, he only sings the hook, it's san quinn doin the verses, so i wouldn't even consider it a nickatina song.....there are a few nickatina songs i haven't got sick of yet (10 years listenin...)....
-
Exactly. Love songs are timeless. Paranoid gangsta rap tracks...... mmmm.. it's hard.
I'd say songs like Dear Mama could be considered timeless tracks.
Masterpieces.
And hell yeah, Arrested Development! Mr. Wendal, and Speech's first solo album (with the remake of Marvin Gaye's What's Going On).. That kind of music is timeless, ImO.

i see some haters talking about gangsta shit isn't timeless. these are the cats that clearly think the music is a fad, cats from that mtv crowd. i tried to select a couple of my favorite (mostly gangsta) tracks that i've been bumpin' for the past 10-15 years. but the shit ain't timeless. heh. clowns.
ask this question again in 2006 and by then i'll throw some kausion, kam, dogg pound, yo yo, dazzie, bone and ofcourse b.g. knocc out & dresta on the damned list. if it isn't aged 10 years, it isn't making my list.
hate on that.
