Title: West Coast Labels
Post by: Ynot on March 05, 2004, 12:09:51 PM
Wassup ya'll? I was wondering what west coast labels are in existence, meaning who's really making moves? [Not just some label that has a name with no artists] I see how the Roc is doing well with Kanye West at #2, and the Young Gunz at #3 on the albums charts. I see that and say, "Damn.. I wish there was a label out here that is trying to make moves like that or at least producing good artists" I know good music is music regardless of sales, but I never really see or hear about many west coast artists releasing any music continuously. The way the industry is, these east coast and south artists are releasing like 2 albums a year. It seems slow out here, but it could be because I'm someone on the outside looking in, not knowing the inside stories about who's in the studio or who's releasing underground... Let me kno what's goin on...

yeh yeh, we know all those labels,
im pretty sure he askin which labels are sellin records doin it big on the billboard charts, and all the ones you mentioned aint sellin shit. its the cold truth, and i wish it wasnt like that, but it is.
the west is all goin independant now (well atleast most of the west coast artists are), coz they bein driven out of the music industry to go underground.
yes, they still are makin dope music, and they might be makin decent money doin it independant, but they aint blowin up shit, coz if they were, then we would hear their music on the radio & on mtv all the time like how these eastcoast cats are
