Title: Kurupt Greatest Hitz
Post by: ACGRUNDY on March 08, 2004, 12:09:03 AM
1)Smooth
2)Respect
3)Dogg Pound Gangstas
4)Puffin on blunts and drankin tanqeray
5)Streets is a mutha
6)doggy dogg world
7)ain't no fun
8)stranded on death row
9)Just Doggin
10)Party at My House
11)Its a set up
12)We can freak it
13)Space Boogie
14)What would you do
15)First We Pray
16)Who got some gangsta shit
17)Bitches ain't shit

I made this, whatcha think of the tracklist.  I tried makin it with songs that kurupt spit really good on. I know there is a lot of dope songs with him such as the hardest mutha fuckas or can't go wrong or I ain't shit without my homeboys, etc, but honestly I thought the other rappers came tighter, or the beat was so great, etc, but kurupts verses werent his best.  I think these songs showcase some of the best kurupt we have heard.

I'm back is horrible, one of the worst kurupt songs ever imo.  I don't think any of those songs you listed showcase kurupts best talent.

one of his tightest, most overlooked verses is on the remix to "Get on up" with Jodeci...he ripped that track apart

I'm back is an overrated song, i agree. I dont feel it so much. I didn't change is wonderful, but it's wonderful the meaning of the track, ImO. It's very deep. But if we are making a Greatest Hits showing Kurupt's skills as an MC, i'd prefeer other tracks. I think the one Toker420k did is pretty good. Except for NY NY, his best track ever. LOL.

Maybe you can add one of these:

Pete Rock feat Inspectah Deck, Kurupt - Tru Master
Gangstarr feat Lady of Rage, Kurupt - You Know My Steedz (Remix)

Yeah, but i consider it more like a freestyle session, you know. I dont know, Dre is boring in the intro, he talks too much. But overybody in that track is just perfect. I've mixed it and cutted Dre. That version, yeah, it's my second fav track ever from Kurupt. P.S. Nothing against Dre, his intro is just too long. I've made it starting with Rage... wow!

That Warren G produced track on Kuruption, dont you like it?
And Gangsta Love, with Warren G. Two blazing tracks, ImO.
Under Pressure, another great track, ImO.
Laid back tracks, but very good ones, ImO.

thats a dope song fa sho, but like I said 500 times all ready, I made the album to showcase KURUPT and his best lyrical ability.  Kurupts verse on that song is no where near his best.

Where is It's Over? lol, just playin. I like your list Grundy. I feel what you are trying to say about Kurupt at his best, and I agree with your list.

hehe, i did the same with that song, I made a single out of it with clean, explicit and instrumental versions. So if you see a promo cd of Tha Dogg Pound called "Bluntz & Tanqueray", I did that shit.  8)
