Title: Help of a computer wiz needed
Post by: T-Dogg on March 26, 2004, 12:55:14 PM
I got this problem with the game Halo I don't know how to fix. Basically, some certain things in the levels, like lamps and certain types of walls, can be seen through walls and objects. For example, if there is a room I can't see with a lamp in it, I can see the lamp miles away through any walls that might be in the way. Anybody know how to fix this? Neither Microsoft or Bungie have been able to provide any type of tech support. The funny thing is that the problem wasn't there when I started the game, but just popped up when I loaded a saved game one time. Now it happens all the time, no matter if it's a saved game or if I start a new one.

Oh and don't give all the crap about getting the latest drivers & DirectX. That's the first thing I did. I re-installed the game too, didn't work.

I running on Windows XP Pro, ATI Radeon 9100 128MB video card & 1Ghz AMD Duron processor with 512MB RAM.

Man I got the shit off the internet. But it's weird that the game ran fine for a few days, then just POP.

haha thats the dumbest thing taking the game back and returning it
what u gotta do is update your video card drivers
you gotta find out waht kind of video card you have and update the drivers
that'll fix ur problem most likely

If you'd read my original post, you would've noticed that I tried updating my drivers already. The first thing I did. But thanks for trying dude! ::)

definitely sounds like a problem with the drivers or the card.

try different versions of the drivers *not necessarily the latest*

see if u can clock the card down too in its control panel, might be more stable, but less quick.

and if its got them check the fans working ok and the heatsinks on alright.

i also remember reading about this problem with other people
go to www.viaarena.com and download the 4 in 1 drivers
that might fix things and make sure you've got directx 9.0 b
sorry didnt read ur first post too carefully
and if u have an ati card try omega drivers they give better performance and sometimes more compatibility
