i've been a huge fugees fan since i heard ready or not when it came out...then my brother bought the carnival when it dropped and ever since then i've been a huge wyclef fan...i would rank his albums like this:

The Carnival: Classic, 10/10...not one bad track...even the skits are dope
Preachers Son: near classic 9/10...1 or 2 annoying tracks...for the most part all tracks are dope
The Ecleftic: 2 Sides 2 A Book: again 9/10...damn good album...some of my favorite clef joints are on here.
Masquerade: 7/10...has a bunch of dope tracks but not enough to stand out...its worth the money but i would buy it last.

the carnival is his first solo...well actually its "Wyclef Jean presents The Carnival featuring the Refugee Allstars" (refugee allstars=the fugees + John Forte)

but they are only on a few tracks...its a solo clef album and easily a classic.

the thing you'll wanna remember though before you check the carnival is that its not like the clef shit you hear on the radio...in fact only 2 tracks (and a remix) were singles. its real shit...clef always brings real shit but i havent ever heard him go back to the carnival style except one some of the tracks on preachers son...it will probably take 2 or 3 listens before it really hits you how amazing of an album it really is.
