Cypress Hill: 48,518 copies, entered @ 17
Knocturnal: 39,756 copies, entered @ 27
Im surprised Cypress sold more than Knoc...Yeah theyre more popular than Knoc, but still, promotion was not bad, he has a video out with Snoop Dogg making a guest appearance.. oh well I guess 40,000 is alright for a west coast rapper.. remember Suga Free sold like 25,000 with NO promotion..so I guess Knoc will go gold in a couple months
Usher had the highest number, dude sold 1,087,954 the first week...cotttdamn
-
damn...Usher was bound to sell major units (dope album)
i thought Knoc & Cypress Hill woulda moved more
-
hell yeah im abouts to pick up the new knoc, when i get paid.

Cypress Hill has more fans across the music board. No suprise they would sell more.
-
damn usher went plat first week, thats dope for homie man...........knock sold 40k first week......i guess thats a iight, i cant see homie goin gold though with only 40 1st week...........cypress sold mo i think cuz of the kanye west thang, and they gotta lil probably gotta lil base of fans who buy they joints so thats why he probably sold mo.....plus no one probably even knows about knoc man, homie got delayed more times than most muthafucker will in they career
-
i didnt expect more
-
dropped single too early for knoc and i didn't really see alot of promotion besides that
-
I think Knoc should've moved more untis considering the support he has from influential people in the industry (Dre, Damizza), he really didn't exploit those connections tho.
-
surprising for Knoc, dissapointing for Cypress
-
I know why cypress sold more then knoc, the knoc video isnt released ova here but the cypress hill video is. And I dunno bout other countries but videos Are IT when its bout promotion ova here
-
cypress sold more cause theyre more known, theyre on mtv, AND IMO their album is better than knocs.
also, thats CRAZY bout usher! damn, congrats to him.
-
major props to usher -
The album tallied the highest first week numbers ever scanned by a male R&B artist, breaking R. Kelly's record of 540,000 for TP2 in 2000.
The album is also Arista's biggest debut in 30 years, breaking the previous record of 689,000 held by Notorious B.I.G.'s posthumous album, Life After Death.
its history baby!

GAAADDDAAAAM, THAT IS A LOT OF SALES GENERATED RIGHT THERE. THEY DID PRETTY DAMN GOOD THIS SPRING!! AND STILL SELLIN
-
That Usher song is shitty. Knoc will sell more units when they drop a video for "me or him" with Nate dog. I wanna hear the new Cypress Hill I actual like "watcha #"
-
cypress sold more cause theyre more known
oh yea yea true true, Cypress got a bigger fanbase, hardcore fans all around the globe who buy it no matter if its wack or tight. They been doing it for so long so its not suprising. Knocs gotta prove himself to sell right now

So true. 40k isnt bad for Knoc seeing as how its technically his first album (in a market thats not giving the Westcoast any breaks.) It sucks for Cypress (only pushing 50) cuz they got soooo many cross over fans. Im surprised at their numbers. You would think that they wouldve pushed 150, 200k. Hope their album picks up speed.
Its not bad numbers, its just a far cry from what we used to push on the WC. It again, shows where the peoples focus is right now. Everyones into that mushy crap music right now. I hate todays music and I hate todays music fans (Just dont connect with those million or so people who ran out and bought Usher!)

2nd week sales...
Cypress Hill: 28,166 copies, #21 on Billboard
Knocturnal: #36 on Billboard but sold less than 25,000
and that fucker J-Kwon sold 124,825 copies in his first week, can you believe that... maaan and Knoc's single was like 100x better than "Tipsy". Just because he's on SoSo Def. Daz better come with a 100K the first week

>:(
-
Both should have sold more, especially because they're much doper then what's popular. I've bought the Cypress Hill-album and I think it's a verrry dope album!
As for Daz pushing 100k...I'd love that! And with JD,it just might happen.
-
well bad news for both of these albums...
cypress hill went down to 21-59
and FUCKING KNOCTURNALS ALBUM WENT DOWN TO 99 FROM 36..wow..thanks to alll these faggot muthafuckers like MTV, AND THE radio supporting that wack shit...fucking wack ass j-kwon sold more in a week then both cypress hill and knoc combined..my god...the west is dying.
-
i see some promotion for the cypress hill album up her ein canada
dont see any for the knoc album in canada :P
-
I get so pissed off about how the west coast gets no media support. If it werent for the die hard fans (like the ones on this forum) there probably wouldn't be much of a westcoast hip hop scene period. thats why it's important to buy records whenever you can! fucc downloading and bootlegging(unless it's some really rare shit). I know alot of yall mofo's bootlegged that suga free, that knocc, and that hi-c. c'mon ya'll!!!
-
I got the Knoc, HI-C and that Usher...
Most CD's I've bought in a long ass while...
Knoc- Hot shit, I'm really feelin it
Hi-C- Could be the best release I've heard this year. I'm a bit peeved at the skips on the last track, but other than that, It's not gonna leave the disc changer in a long while
Usher- I'm as tired of that "Yeah" song as all of you, But he really brought it on that album. Seems like he matured a lot and I like that shit.
-
Knocturnal fell bad, he's at #99 and Dilated Peoples sold 35,153 copies the first week
Usher already multi-platinum in his 3rd week... crazy

Who the fuck is J-Kwon, he needs a better name, something like Knocturnal
but there is a ready a good rapper called that ;) ;D
