Title: Most unique film ever...
Post by: Now_Im_Not_Banned on April 01, 2004, 03:34:33 PM
"Waking Life"...This movie is nothing less of an acid trip...Very inspiring, and intelligent film...Ethan Hawke stars in this, so some of you might wanna check it out...I think it's probably the weirdest movie I've ever seen.

back when the first LOTR came out on dvd (well about 2 or 3 months before) i got one of those cards for my birthday that was like 10 or 15 free rentals (1 each week) for 10 or 15 weeks...and then when LOTR came out you got the dvd for free...well i got my dvd ok but i only got probably 5 rentals...every fuckin week i would go in there and they'd be like "oh you've already used it"...i was like "fuck you guys this is the first day of the week, you just opened 20 minutes ago...what the fuck you mean i already used it? kiss my ass!"

For me it is Man Bites Dog (1992) a Belgian movie . Quentin Tarantino has claimed to be a fan and so do i !

This film has been rated NC-17 by the M.P.A.A for strong graphic violence
It includes murders, rape.... in other words explicit content.

It's the story of a serial killer (not a real one indeed).
What makes this movie disturbing are the atrocious acts the guy commit but also the fact he is an intelligent serial killer, a poet with some eduction not to mention the Black & White picture which add some real documentary feel.

Since this movie, the main actor, Benoît Poelvoorde (Belgian)  became a huge blockbuster actor here in France and i must say i fucking love him, terrific actor, not your average actor for sure.

Anyway if you're not convinced , take look at the Poster, that says a lot about this movie lol

For more info check wikipedia here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_Bites_Dog_(film))

You can download it totally illegally and in non accordance of the law if you register at http://tehparadox.com/forum, they got everything there.

The Qatsi trilogy.

Essentially 3 live motion slideshows of footage from across the world cataloging earth and human's impact on it. No dialogue, no plot, just two hours of amazing wideshots and time lapsed footage set to a score by Philip Glass, light up some dank to this and appreciate the beauty that is our planet.
