Title: Rakim signs with StarTrak, New LP out summer 05

Hip hop pioneer, Rakim, has announced that he has signed a deal with StarTrak Entertainment. The home of acts such as N*E*R*D* (aka The Neptunes), Roscoe P. Goldchain, and High Speed Scene. Sources say that the mic god himself has officially scrapped the forthcoming effort that was originally scheduled to be released on Dr. Dre's Aftermath outfit. He will record a new LP with production from The Neptunes, Swizz Beats, Mannie Fresh, Alchemist, & Pete Rock among others. "I've finally found a label where I can be myself" says Rakim, "This new album will bring hip hop back to its roots."

He then went on to state that his new album (which is still untitled) would be ready for release by the summer of 2005 if not sooner.

NO doubt man...It aint like he comin out on Aftermath or somethin...He needs to drop something, and at least Neptunes would put some faith into the project instead of gay ass dre dropping Eve and Busta albums instead of Rakim.

LMAO at the fact people fell for this. Rakim himself said he had his own label now and thats where his next album would be released. He said there will be a Neptunes track on there though.
