Post by: Glendale on April 02, 2004, 09:04:16 PM
im feelin him...i wish he'd blow up, he's been underrated even when "oh no" was big, with nate dogg........i dont got any of his CD'z but do u guys know if he has any songs where he raps and drops a SICK verse like he did on "Oh No"??? cuz that was just raw. so are their any OTHER songs that are similar to the lyrics, delivery, flow, and intensity he had in that song? post em up and if i like those i may buy his albums soon. thnx peace.

Check these.. (in order from which you should check first)

1. Last Dayz
2. Agent Orange
3. Simon says
4. Simon says remix feat. Method Man, Redman, Busta Rhymes etc.
5. Fuck you
6. No Mercy feat. M.O.P. (Alchemist)
7. Dub Plate
8. Yall know the name
9. I shot the mayor
10. Murda 1 case ft. DJ Quik

etc. just the ones that came to mind..
And btw, the verse on "Oh no" was FAR from his best, even if he outshined Mos Def with ease, he's better on almost any song he puts out..

His album is absolutely incredible, one song I hated (The Next Shit) but every other song on the CD is at least a 4.5/5 IMO.

yeah, Pharoahe got some seriously dope verses - check out Organised Konfusion - Stray Bullet - one of my favourite Pharoahe verses. I just read somewhere that The Inc & Shady Records are fighting for his signature...i know which i would prefer!

His verse on Nate Dogg's "I pledge allegiance" is fucking sick. I also love him in "Murda 1 case" by Quik. His whole albums is sick, but when he spits over westcoast style beats on this kinda collabos...oooh wee!!

lol, couldn't have put that better...

Anyway, I'd actually like to see Pharoahe on Shady Records. I dunno how he would sound over Em's beats (doesn't sound like a great combo to me, but I guess we will have to wait and see if it ever happens), but I do know that I'd be very interested in hearing a Pharoahe/Obie collaboration. Don't ask me why, I'm a bigger Em fan than Obie fan, but for some strange reason I get the notion that Pharoahe and Obie would really compliment each other on the mic.

Just think what the Shady roster could have been/could be:

Em
D12
Obie
50 Cent
Stat Quo
DJ Green Lantern
Pharoahe
Royce (why oh why did Em stop fucking with him even BEFORE the beef ??? )
Xzibit (wasn't he in talks to get down with them a while ago?)

I'm sure there was another big name (or well known) rapper in talks to get down wth Shady, but my mind has gone blank. Anyone notice anybody else on the list of possible signings that I've missed?

One thing I don't understand though - why does Em share his top signings with Dre? It was Em who ''discovered'' 50 Cent, even Dre admits this in interviews, yet he is a Shady/Aftermath artist. Same with Stat Quo, who refers to Em as his C.E.O yet he too is Shady/Aftermath. I wonder if Dre has a say in who is purely Shady and who is co-aligned with Aftermath? I mean, its not like Dre is 'sharing' The Game & Busta with Shady Records...confusing...

Shady Records is part of Aftermath, so anyone (ex: 50 Cent) signed to Shady is automatically falling under Aftermath as well. However, if someone (ex: Busta) is signed to Aftermath, he isn't necessarily signed to Shady.

Live-N-Die-N-LA, that makes sense - but D12 and Obie are purely Shady artists. Then again, they were the first signed to Shady so maybe he decided later to put out all Shady artists from then on with Aftermath. Eh, I dunno...

I wouldn't want to see Monch spit over em's corny beats. Hope he doesn't sign to shady.

It's a trip that his album is out of print already. Shit, I remember buying that shit. Glad I still got it.

GAME'S NOT A SHADY ARTIST --> G-unit / Aftermath
Busta is 100% Aftermath
Stat Quo Shady / Aftermath
50 Shady / Aftermath
Eve is 100% Aftermath

Remember what Paul Rosenberg said 1 month ago? Ice Cube ---> Shady / Aftermath? X may sign to Shady / Aftermath as well ... BTHN & Wu Tang as a group are in talks too ... and of course Pharoahe Monch ...

Shady / Aftermath is like 1 Label under Interscope ... ;) You can check the label deals @ www.aftermathmusic.com

it hardly matters if an artist is aftermath or shady/aftermath in my opinion.
the only difference with shady/aftermath is Em and Dre share the money, lol.
