Eminem on the new D12 freestyle:
"The game just ain't the same, it's changin'//Shit, Dre's quittin', Jay's quittin'..."
-
we kinda expected detox to be the last..
he cant go out without a finale
-
could be hype, who knows

Yeah that's a good call right there... and like Seer said, Dre's gotta hit us off with a final bang... he can't just fade off without one more tight album...
-
It aint over till Jimmy says it is ;D
-
Well although it often seems like Jimmy calls all the shots around there, I think Dre doesn't actually have any contractual commitment to release an album.
But I too think Dre can't just fade out like that... He needs to drop Detox. Like, release a super hit record like 2001 was and then quit while you're at the top. Sure he's a big name now even without an album, but Jay-Z did it right - one last banger, then fade out.
-
"The game just ain't the same, it's changin'//Shit, Dre's quittin', Jay's quittin'..."
ya that line got me thinkin too. i dont think he's gonna quit.
peace

maybe it's a hint. as we all know, the motherfucker Jay-Z isnt really quittin, he lied to sell more.
maybe it is the same thing wit DrDre and scrapping Detox?!
-
jay-z isn't quitting??? wtf???

It's been rumoured that Jigga would make a "comeback" under his real name, Sean Carter. But it's just rumours and speculation, Jay or anybody else from the Roc (or from any other label for that matter) hasn't said anything like that.
-
I don't know about you all, but I think it couuuld be possible that he just isn't able to drop enough hot beats for a dope album like Detox, so he just wants to can it. He's dropped some coo beats, some tite as hell some not, since 2001...but he claims that he was savin his best for Detox, then let 50 have one of the best, bein In the club. I think he can't even pop out enough dope ass beats for a Detox. Because people are gonna be dissapointed if it's not as good as 2001, shit some people will be dissapointed if it doesn't top Doggystyle and the Chronic. But I just think that he can't come up with anything new and amazing to change the game so he's cancellin it until he can come up with somethin groundbreaking.
-
Dre is a dope producer & he gotta come back with at least 1 more album, even if takes credit for other peoples production he still is dope.& he better make somethin better than his last album, cause it wasnt classic.
-
another dre thread, like it or not we are all officially on his dick. dre's last album was the rebirth of the west coast and it rejuvenated so many west coast artists career( snoop, cube, nate dogg, doc, mc ren, rbx ,kurupt, xzibit even jayo felony). and a dre album right now could do the same for the west. If Dre dropped detox this year there would be no snoop, no kurupt, no melman, no xzibit possibly I just think he relizes that the time isnt right. I do think we will see detox but not as soon as we'd like to. and when it drops, if it drops it's gonna be legendary just like the chronic and 2001( which is a classic). also I do believe jimmy iovine has alot of input on that shit also.

am i the only one who had heard a long long time ago that detox would be dre's last album anyway? em probably just meant it like that...jay just quit...dre's got one last album on the way...it's not any kind of news that dre is gonna quit soon.

as far as Im concerned Jigga implied it himself on the Black Album

Well, when he says "Dre's quitting" it seems like he means "Dre is never gunna produce again"...That's what quitting is, isn't it?

As fate would have it, Jay's status appears
to be at an all-time high, perfect time to say goodbye
When I come back like Jordan
Jay Z - Encore (The Black Album) 1:38

the day you're guaranteed dre and jay won't make music any more , is the day they DIE.
shit look how many rappers tried to call it quits, and came back with like 3 or 4 more albums
-
hell i'd wanna quit too if the whole world was expecting the hottest albums from me - it kinda takes all the fun away when people are expecting everything from you
-
i hope dre doesnt quit on us. if he doesnt deliver by giving us another album ill loose most of my respect for him.
-
How did Dre releasing 2001 help Jayo Felony?
-
If Im not mistaken, I think he opened a few dates during the first half of the up in smoke tour.

Every fourth quarter, I like to Mike Jordan em/
Number one albums what I got, like four of em/
More of them on the way, the 8th wonder on the way/
