who is the best, personally i think battlecat is
-
i gotta say a tite between bc and g dub
-
really tough one. I'd say Daz Dillinger, but Warren G is VERY close.
You can't ignore Daz's production on All Eyez On Me, Raw, RRGB, You Know What I'm Throwin Up. He just brings out that beautiful west coast sound. Can't finish the post wuthout mentioning the song he did on Mission Cleopatra, which dropped everyone's jaw

hmm, tough one. very close between daz and battlecat. voted for battlecat tho.
btw i dont think warren g should be included in this poll. dre is just as dpg affiliated as him.
peace

yea but warren produced for damn near every dpg artist. dre produced for like 4 of them
-
Currently, it's Fred Wreck. If you look at total works, it's Daz.
-
for a career its definately battlecat. he also produced a lot outside of dpg. he has produced a lot of slept on albums, and has consistently dropped heaters for over 10 years. No one on that list besides bc and warren g have done that. and battle cat has just produced a lot more heaters than warren g has.
-
I had to roll with the homie warren g. I believe he has a better overall understanding of music. He invented g funk! if Im not mistaken he even coined the term "g funk." but I honestly love every producer on that list. I had to look at it from a historical standpoint.

has warren produced for bad azz? id like to hear that one 8)
peace

i think warrens a lot more dpg affiliated than dre. warren represents dogg pound in some of his songs and unlike dre hes still working with dpg artists.
-
I voted for Fred Wreck, but it was close between him and Warren,
Also tell me some tight DPG songs produced by Battlecatt, Ive heard his name being mentioned and I got alot of DPG albums, but just lazy to read the booklets.
Soopafly aint that good, mediocre really.
-
Warren G is the best, followed by Soopafly, Battlecat, Daz then Fred.
-
tough choice. but i'ma have to pick fred wreck
-
if it werent for warren g's 70's inspired soul influenced beats mutha fuckas on the westcoast would still be rappin' over loops of more bounce to the ounce. because that was the style before gfunk came along.
-
warren g
-
Right now Fredwreck, I'd love to vote for Warren but its been too long since Ive heard him produce 3 or 4 heaters in a row. Fred drops them all the time
But overall I say Battlecat, like Grundy said, he produced for tons of non DPG artists that people slept on or never even heard of. From Domino to Smooth I 7 to Raphael Saadiq to Faith Evans to E-40 to Short Khop
-
Fredwreck
-
damn, Fred Wreck gettin no love lol.
i gotta go wit Fred. Just take a listen at Streets iz a Mutha and tell me his shit aint hot. I neva really felt battlecat THAT much. Daz is strait, he a betta producer then he is a rapper lol. Soopafly is pretty tight and Warren G is strait too. But Fred got em beat.
-
Warren G hands down, imo. I love DJ Battlecat and Fred too, but I gotta go with G dub. He always comes with heat.
-
Snoop has such a tight production team in front of him and he doesnt even realize it.
-
fred wreck no doubt
-
I'd go with Fredwreck...or Battlecat...No ima say Warren G...Or Daz...maybe Soopafly...can't decide ;D 8)
-

yea, snoops a dumb ass for using neptunes beats
-
I had to roll with the homie warren g......He invented g funk!
-
without a doubt Battlecat, all of 'em have produced classics over the years, but on the real... BC have NEVER made a wack beat!
-
At this very moment, I would give a slight edge to DJ Battle Cat over Fred Wreck. For career, I would give Daz the slight edge over Warren G.
-
I couldn't decide but I finally decided on Battlecat. Warren G is better all around but I think Battlecat has produced more tite tracks for DPG. Warren's titest stuff is on his solo joints and his G-Funk Family (Twinz, 5 Footaz)
-
Warren to the G.
-
I voted for Fredwreck but it's something of a tie..Freddy,Warren and Battlecat are all verrry dope..and then Daz and Soopafly are up there too, though IMO they stay somewhat behind those other three.
-
Battlecat without a Doubt following By Soopafly his shit are Funky as Hell
-
Dat nigga Daz...(1992-1998)
during that period
ImO
Hatesrats 2oooIV
-
there are a few producers missing from the list like meech wells and even L.T. hutton has been a dogg pound collaborator since the deathrow days. and I like battlecat too but I gotta say some of the shit he did on boo ya tribe wasn't as tight quality as I expected.
