I listened to this album for the first time the other day. I was reluctant to buy it at first. As all i had heard from people was how this was the worst album to be released this year and some people were saying it was the worst album ever made. After listening to it though i was suprised, i think its a descent album. For all the people sayin its an awful album , y do u think this? I know lyrically Kurupt isant what he was but he is not terrible on this.
-
Cos he is on Deathrow, thats why people are hating.
-
Bad production, bad flows, bad... everything basically.
-
personally i like the production on the album also lyrically it aint awful, its just not the standerd we want from kurupt. if this album was from a new westcoast artist people would prob be sayin how good the album is.
-
does anyone know if this is out in Australia cause ive never seen anywhere and im damn interested in hearing it
-
thinkit only got released in limited numbers round cali ???
-
i only like a handful of tracks, Yz Up Az Down is a burner track on this album. the beats aint that bad, laid back and smooth, but the hook singers are wack as fuck, reminded me of onyx triggernometry album, where the songs are alright but the hooks are killin each track. Kurupt should do alot more for Against The Grain.

Exactly. IMO this album is nowhere NEAR decent. There are two or three okay beats, though.
-
Did any body else happen to see on that dpg dvd (I cant remember the name) Where daz confronted kurupt on camera about fuckin with death row and kurupt was actin all scary and shit, In that same segment kurupt went on to say he's got like 5 albums done on his computer, I believe this is one of them. the shit sounds like it was done on fruity loops or some shit.
-
I agree that it's a decent album. Some of the beats like "Californya", "I Didn't Change", and "Y's Up And A's Down" are straight bangin'. However, Kurupt's lyrics are pure garbage. He REALLY needs to step it up for Against The Grain.
-
This album ain't shit. Sure, there are a couple good beats, a couple good tracks. But overall, the production is real boring and the rhymes are lazy and poorly rapped. I probably wouln't dislike this album so much if it wasn't released by Kurupt. Having heard Space Boogie and Streetz is a mutha i'm REALLY disappointed by this release. It dusnt hold anything to those 2 albums.
-
of course if its not like dogg food people are gonna bitch...some of the tracks are tight..and the album is nowhere near as bad as most are making it out to be...its not great...little better than average

LOL, I didn't expect this to sound like Dogg Food, I expected a decent album & Kurupt failed to deliver that. His lyrics, flow & voice are COMPLETE SHIT throughout the album. The only thing that's okay are a few beats.
-
it's a horrible piece of sh*t album. Serious contention for worst album ever.
First of all, "CJ" can hardly rap. He's wack as fucc...
Secondly production is poor.
Thirdly Kurupt fell the fucc off and struggles to put together anything resembling a good verse on this album. R.I.P. Kurupt.
Everything about this album is wacc. Horrible, horrible, horrible.
sheeeet, even Suga Free sounded like sh*t on this album...
oh and the mastering and mixing was terrible too.
AVOID THIS ALBUM AT ALL COSTS... IT'S WAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCC
-
the album is ok..some laid back westcoast shit
-

-

the problem is the album is anything but hot.
Like I said;
(i) CJ can't rap
(ii) Kurupt forgot how to rap and drops weak verse after weak verse
(iii) production is uninspiring... average at best
(iv) mixing and mastering are poor
this album is trash!
-
^ this comin' from a dude with Daz in his avatar. There's some bangin' ass beats on this. Fuck wha'chu heard. Kurupt just REALLY needs to step his shit up.
-
i didnt change is a DOPE ASS track...plus theres some other great tracks....though i admit there are some weak tracks and some bad hooks that could've been left off
-
I love the album I think its quite hot actually. I recognise real. Peep game it aint all about beats but production wise this is rolling through quite nicely! :)

Kurupt been wack since "Space Boogie". It gets no worse than the owners though. Other than "I didn't change" post ONE, just ONE, dope verse by Kurupt from the "Owners"
c'mon kid, let's see what you got!
-
^^^^ Kurupt was descent on dillinger and young gotti which was a hot album.
