Title: Mo Thugs - III: The Mothership
Post by: That_Cracka_J on May 21, 2002, 07:39:03 PM
Mo Thugs – III: The Mothership

1. Who forgot about it…Feature’s Desperidos.  Average beat.  Nothing real great about it.  Only thing that stands out in the track is Layzie’s verse.  3/5
2. Seldom seen…Another mediocre beat.  Only thing worth listening to is Layzie’s verse.  3/5
3. Last laugh…Decent beat, but some rapid fire flowing.  Featuring Freaky G and Emmortal Thugs.  Tight verses.  4/5
4. The backyard…Tight production on the track.  Layzie and his son put down tight flows.  Catchy hook.  4/5
5. Gunline…Average beat.  Good Layzie verse.  3/5
6. Wanna be ballers…Good radio friendly track by Potion.  3/5
7. It don’t stop…Laidback beat.  Wind chimes are a nice touch.  Ken Dawg puts down one of his best flows.  3.5/5
8. U don’t want none…Head noddin’ beat and some more rapid flows from Emmortal Thugs and Freaky G.  4/5
9. This ain’t livin’…Song about the downside of hustlin’.  Tight Layzie flow.  Good hook with Felecia.  4/5
10.   Did he really wanna?…Nice drum loop.  Average flow.  Average hook.  3.5/5
11.   Total kaos…Ken Dawg and Layzie have tight verses.  Decent beat.  3/5
12.   Tighten up your operation…Bangin’ beat.  Good lyrics.  3.5/5
13.   Down from the start…Beat has an old school flavor to it.  Not really feelin’ it.  3/5
14.   2 the playaz…The chorus is about the only thing good about this song.  Verses aren’t good and the song is way too long.  Six minutes long.  2/5
15.   If I can go back…A reminiscent song about lost friends by Flesh N Bone.  Bangin’ beat.  4/5
16.   Everything green…Good beat, average lyrics and a weak hook.  3/5

OVERALL…5.5/10

Mo Thugs lost many members between the 2nd and 3rd installment.  Layzie signed some new members which are average rappers at best besides Emmortal Thugs, which have rapid rhymes like Bone Thugs.  Album does not hold enough interest to want to play it more than a couple of times except for a very select few songs.

It is my all time favorite... I love Jeremy aka Layzie's son's Eric Cartman-sounding voice... I GOT AK9 NIGGA, WHAT YOU GONNA DO <--- he basically just repeats this over in his whole verse ;D ;D ;D
It amuses me how he says "nigga" about every 3 seconds, damn how old is this fool, 7 years old, lmao... for real though, the beat is hard-hitting and dope, this is really addicitive shit. Peace

The only reason I gave it that was because I liked Layzie's verses.  I probably shoulda gone lower, but it just didn't seem right...you know, for a Bone project?
