I was just listening to the Thicker Than WAter Ost today, and realized how dope of a lineup Hoobangin used to have.
MC Eiht
Techniec
CJ Mac
Mack 10
I dunno if Road Dawgs or The Comrads were actually on the label, but they were definately affiliated, along with Ice Cube, WC, and AllfrumthaI.
They sure should have done bigger things. At least Eiht got a decent album out of there.

Oh, shit, I never knew all those albums came out on hoo bangin. those all were definately tight albums. I guess Paper Route is pretty dope too. So they actually did do some dope projects.
-
Yeah I loved Hoo Bangin when they were around, shame Tech never got an album out, he was all over Paper Route.
-
hoo bangin rec is tight. solid records. sound quality was perfect too. wasnt the last wscg album also a hoo bangin record? the logo is on that cd right?

was never really feeling hoobangin' even though i have the majority of the albums from off there....1st i don't think Mack 10 was big enough to have his own label.....he's either a hit or miss rapper and most of his shit misses since his Based On a True Story cd. then the majority of the cd's didn't seem that tight...there were alot of filler songs and only 2-4 bangers
their catalog includes
CJ Mac - Platinum Game - own...wasn't feeling it
COG - Children Of Da Ghetto - own... only about 3 good songs on there
The Comrads - Wake Up & Ball - own... one of the better releases
MC Eiht - Section 8 - own...wasn't feeling it
Thicker Than Water - own..got a few bangers on here but alot of these songs appeared on the artists solo albums
Mack 10 presents Da Hood - own...once again a few good songs, the rest is filler
Mack 10 presents Hoo-Bangin' the mix tape vol 1 - own....POOR sound quality
Mack 10 - The Recipe - own....good collabo cd
Mack 10 - The Paper Route - own....eh he went downhill here
MC eiht - N' My Neighborhood - own...decent cd
Westside Connection - terrorist threats - own....overall a disappointment
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
the only ones i don't own are an MC eiht cd and that one Mack 10 cd where he looked like Cube on the cover
-
yeah the hoo bangers was a tight line up but they could have released better shit........techniec should have been the highest priority in the group and released his shit first, and ofcourse eiht released dope shit on this label
-
I don't really like Mack 10 but I thought he had a very solid line up with hoo bangin' and I also gotta say the production on those c.d.'s very solid. what's his deal is he still blingin' with cash money? I heard in a recent interview with baby that he was gettin ready to drop another album with cash money. bang or ball was surprisingly good in my opinion.
-
Only albums I have off of Hoo Bangin' is "Da Hood Comp" and "Terrorist Threat". Both are coo' but nothin' special.
-
You forgot "Ghetto, Gutter & Gangsta" which was a tight compilation...and The Recipe was a pretty good album IMO....
Long Beach with the ING...Beeeyaaatch!!!
-
damn I didn't know they put out all those releases. they had a really dope label in fact, especially if Techniec would have dropped a solo album. Plus imagine a group album of techniec, mc eiht, and mack 10!

section 8 was my favorite.
