We got some more new music today, this time the first single by Daz Dillinger from his upcoming So So Def debut album entitled "So So Gangsta". Its called "Party People" and it features labelmates Jermaine Dupri and Jagged Edge. Not really the party joint you would expect from the title, its more laid back but tight nonetheless. The song has been added to radio playlists so be on the lookout for the video coming in a few weeks before the album drops in July. Hopefully this will help Daz blow up again. Listen here "Party People".

Thankz ^^^^^^^^dONE

Damn I'm feeling this track. Nice beat, and some cool verses by Daz & JD. Only thing I ain't really feeling is Jagged Edge's chorus as I personally don't think it suits the rest of the track. Also, the title of ''Party People'' is a little misleading, as like Lil Jay pointed out its really a laid-back cut. Still, its a lot better than what I was expecting after hearing some peoples initial reactions when the tune was played on Power. With a good video, who knows how this track could do...oh yeah, and thanks for posting this Lil Jay!
-
Thanks Jay! The song is okay. I would've liked the beat more if it hadn't been sampled so much.
-
Sounds hot to me...
Seems like now-a-days you need a club hit to get on the radio. As Much as I love this track, I hope it gets Daz the exposure he deserves and needs.
Oh yeah...
Lil J for Prez!!!!!!!!!!

haha song sounds dope. but how is a laid back track like this for the party party people in the club? Chorus dont fit the track IMO.
-
;D DOPE!
-
so so whack
-
pretty tight but i don't think daz sounded as tight as he coulda on another track
i think this will get some play though

dope laid back track. Daz should get some well deserved recognition now since he has some power house label support now, geeze look what so so def did for j-kwon, bone crusher and their new artists. Daz is an OG , he should get love easily , hopefully this venture with so so def helps put the west back in the lime light.
-
completely avg track, nothing special at all.
-
^^ gotta agree on that...was expecting more, but hopefully the album is bangin'
-
Aw Yeah. Dat Nigga Daz is back in da hizzouse. Man, this is what Im talkin 'bout. The track is fire, and I dont know what yall are lookin for. Its a laid back party track that only niggas from cali can put down. I spent alot of time in the south and this is definitly somthin theyll pick up on. Plus it got JD and Jagged Edge, once that video drops the East and South gots ta sho love. Plus the hoez love them some jagged fuckin edge. Daz done clicked up with JD, got into a full blown studio, dropped a musical banger, and watch that nigga blow up. I can see this goin back to back with Ride N Smoke on a top 10. Im really excited about these 2 songs, and not dissapointed as I often am from individuals that have an opportunity to be on radio, but drop average singles. Whens the last time yall seen the west goin back to back on a top 10? And Game 'bout to drop too? Nicca What? Yeah, I definitly here the ol dpg and death row on this one. I mean, switch JD wit the ol snoop, and take 1 of daz's verses and switch it up with the ol kurupt, throw danny in there . . .
So many songs I here come out the west that are just superior to what I here on the radio or just as good and so many times I get frustrated and pissed when the mutha fucker falls by the wayside, and nobody gets a chance to here it and respect it for what it was. Im glad to see this or at least hope that this wont be another victim. The radio be murdering our songs dogg. oh and for all the haters, it looks like daz can produce after all- Biatch!!!

song is dope, but it doesnt sound like it would do well on the radio
-
Allfrumtha i not many have a problem with daz and his production, its his rapping. And this song puts me to sleep
-
Well I know everbody aint got the same taste as me, but I think overall people will feel this one. And daz aint never been a great rapper, and thats why he got away with it early on cuz he had kurupt on his tracks. He has to make up for it on his beats. Plus he rap better than kurupt does now anyway. Its definilty for radio. It is slow, but I can see it doin well in the clubs if its pushed as a west coast steppin song. I would luv to see niggaz and hoez steppin to this one.

LMMFAO! only in the same world where money grows on trees!

its dope... but as a lead single i fear its a bit too slow paced...

Yeah, I'd agree with that. The title of ''Party People'' and the Jagged Edge chorus doesn't seem to fit the slow paced nature of the song. Still, I hope that this does it for Daz and brings him back to the mainstream audience. I have a feeling the video will be hot. I'm betting there will be a few cameos in there: JD & Jagged Edge (obviously), but also maybe Snoop, the rest of the So So family (Da Brat, Bone Crusher, J-Kwon, etc.) probably some other DPG members like Warren G, if their ''animosity'' is over, Nate Dogg and finally, the G-Unit. Seriously I wouldn't be surprised if Daz tries to fill his video with as many familiar faces as possible! ;D Cuz if people who haven't ever listened to Daz see someone like 50 Cent or Snoop in his video, there's a decent chance they'll be interested in finding out who that person is.
-
^^^^My thoughts exactly. Thanks for the hook-up Jay!
-
Just to let everyone know, you can now download the CD Quality mp3 (dirty version, of course!) of ''Party People'' from http://www.dpgrecordz.com. The new update also claims that the two tracks that Young Buck of G-Unit and Daz recorded together are to feature on Buck's solo! They also confirm that Daz is in Buck's new video coming soon. Daz is making moves!
-
I like the song. Its not really what I was expecting, but its cool.
-
downloading it now, give me an hour and i will b able to comment on it ;D
-
Good laidback song.
-
good laid back song kinda agree with how its too slow for party
Ohh well hope it does well, has the potential too, i really do hope the guys support him. I know Nate & him squashed the minor beef, Snoop & Warren cool with Daz, So So Def, Jagged Edge & JD all up in the video, that'll help but to me, tha lock for Daz is if he can get G-Unit with 50 Cent to appear on it
-
i wouldn't be so quick to think all the dpg will show up for cameos, and especially g unit....i hope he can at least get snoop to show up
and this single ain't gonna push alot of units by its self, but it could get his name out there and set up a more upbeat second single
-
If Daz is going to appear in Buck's video, I don't see why Buck wouldn't appear in his. Also, if Buck DOES appear there is surely a better chance that 50, Banks and possibly even Game will appear - although I admit its far from a certainty. Snoop to me is a sure thing - I'm confident that he'll support Daz and appear in the video. After all, he's popped up in most of the other DPG members video's in the past. You're bound to see the likes of Soopafly in there, as with the rest of the So So Def crew. I would like Nate to be in there, but I have my doubts. Overall, I'm pretty sure the video will feature some cool cameos. I just can't wait to see the final product.
Oh yeah, how could I forget Kurupt?? I'm sure he'll be in there too! ;D
-
nice track...sounds a bit like lil rachett´s "lose yo mind"
-
Tight trac...
-
I like the song. Its not really what I was expecting, but its cool.
-
That song is off The Hook ...AND ITS PRODUCED BY daz himself :o :o ...I cAN SEE THIS SONG BLOWING UP FOR SURE...and the good thing IS THAt every so so def single HAs A REMIX SO WE'LL PROBably see A DPG SOSO DEF REMIX ..WHO KNOWS
-
its cool. but by todays standards its great...feelin it
-
this is dope
-
This is actually a real dope laid back track, even JD doesn't sound that bad on this, will be interesting to see what they do with Daz's cursing in the first verse though for the video, cause its gonna sound really disjointed if they just reverse the words or blank them out, definitely needs to be re-recorded or have some dope sound effects over the top of it.
-
beautiful song... definitely a must for a summertime CD
-
I like it. It well do well. But like all the popular songs its gonna get played out real soon. It doesnt sound westcoast to me. The beat is way too mellow for daz. But i dont understand what yall find wrong with his rapping. Yall hate this but yall like the Kurupt MOP track ???
