PlayStation Portable (PSP) looks sick.. it looks sweeter than the new Gameboy, but time will show..
480x262 screen with light.
It's expected to have more power than PS2.. that's more than enough for a portable.
It's on for a November release.. imagine Gran Turismo 4 on that thing.. would be a crazy sales argument.
Universal Media Disc (UMD) can take 18GB (!!)
That's 4 times a DVD-R..
There will also be released movies in UMD-format.. :o

..........an roll out the competition. The Nintendo DS launches a full quarter ahead of the PSP, with a $150.00 price tag. Features include a touchscreen, dual screen technology, movie playback capabilities, and backwards compatibility with the over 1500 existing gameboy games. Up to 16! players can play at the same time, with wireless multiplayer compatibility up to 100 feet. That's pretty incredible.. I think PSP has something similar, too.

The system will ship with new Metroid, and Super Mario game titles, as well as announced strong third party support from Atari, Activision, Capcom, EA, Konami, Sega, Square Enix, and THQ.

"So, what is the battery life going to be on PlayStation Portable? It will be on par with traditional handheld systems, or approximately 10 hours. It is comparable to an ATC [ATRAC] portable music player, or approximately 8 hours. Or, it will be comparable to portable DVD players, which, in many cases, is about 2 and a half hours.

The system's UMD (Universal Media Disc) optical disk format has also been clarified a bit. A UMD is a 60-millimeter dual layered disk that can store up to 1.8 Gigabytes of data. Transfer rate for the reader unit is 11 Megabits per second, which is twice the transfer rate of a standard DVD system. Sony is also promising the highest level of copy protection for these discs using DiscID and AES encoding technology.
think i just changed my mind

So, it's either 10 hours, 8 hours, or 2.5 hours. John Kerry must write their press releases.

holy shit that playsation thingy looks fucking amazing.

i really hate mini discs but damn this thing is crazyyyy 8)

If I´ll get one of those two then it will definatly be the Nintendo DS... you have to be crazy not to take it seen from a gamers perspective... there were talks that they even might do some games that includes speech recognition... talk about innovation in the gaming scene.... the only flaw that seems to bug every Nintendo console is the selection of childish games they develop and put out... I mean Mario Kart on the SNES kicked ass but nowadays I want a real racing game.. a good one.. and no Mario Kart..
anyway... new Metroid, Zelda and Mario games make it worth to get one alone..

those are some nice hands in the first pic

DS is bulky and has wack controls.
-
more power then the PS2? Damn!
Just imagine the PS3 :o
