Title: From Texas to Cali, South to West
Post by: sabwafare2001 on May 29, 2004, 08:41:59 PM
What's up, I just moved from Houston, Texas to Cali around in the Marina Del Rey area (2 blocks from Vience Beach).  I'll be here until December working on a job assignment and I need advice on a few things to help me get to know the area a little better.  Also if you know of any other source I could check out please let me know.
1.  Places to get a hair cut (for black people)
2.  Places to check out and places not to go
3.  The crunkest clubs
4.  Places to shop
5.  Advice on anything that would go me good
6.  Where's walmart

Your help will be greatly appriciated because I'm just tryin to find out if the good things I heard about So. Cali is all true.

since u live near venice beach, hit up 3rd street promenade its pretty crackin.. or you're also pretty close to like Melrose, or Sunset, or Hollywood. you're pretty much in the most ideal location. Venice beach is crackin too especially durin the summer. i myself i always wanted to move there for a summer.. melrose is good for clothes . sunset is good for clubbin and the best clubs/bars, Johnny depp's viper room, or the key club, the roxy. miyagis, and what not.. i dont even know if theres a walmart there.. i dont think ive ever seen a walmart in california. yeah and dont plan on driving on the freeway at anytime during the afternoon. 405 is a fucking parking lot.

I hate the 405 with all my passion.  When I visited my friend in that area once, we went out to some Thai restaurant, and a Korean barbque place.  sorry I can't remember the names, but I gotta say that is some of the most chronic food I have ever had.  So ask around for the best Thai place and Korean barbque, you won't be dissapointed.

what kind of beef is that, and what is the name of the marinade, and where can you buy them at?  also, how do you cook it at home?  Do you have one of those burners?
