Pretty tight interview. but damn I didnt know they had that fall out right before he died...Im suprised Snoop spoke about it with all the details.
And didnt Nas say he squashed the beef with Pac before he died? he squashed it by gettin punked like that? lol
-
Outlawz said Pac squashed it wit Nas ill believe them over punk ass snoop
-
LOL at Snoop talking about he put out the first all female rap group. ;D
I guess he doesn't remember Conscious Daughters.
Also it seems Snoop doesn't seem to care to much for East right now so why did he work with them so much?
-
uhh... and what about HWA ? ;)
-
damn i think snoop gonna get some respect back..
-
HE MAD! :D
Snoop: That’s because I don’t’ get no help. Dr. Dre is the Godfather. But remember, I was an under boss. I came up under Dr. Dre, 'til I crept up to the top and moved away and did my thang. See what I’m sayin? He ain’t about helping the West and that ain’t no disrespect. Eminem ain’t from the West, 50 Cent ain’t from the West. Do I need to say more?
And the last time I was there I had to check the radio station and I told them, "Hot 97 ain't sh*t 'cause they don't play no motherf**kin West coast music, so f**k them!" The only way I got played was when I was with Dr. Dre but as a solo artist y’all don't play my s**t? You don't play the Eastsidaz, you don't play my people's s**t? But every mahf**ka from the East gets play on Power 106 and the Beat, even that wack ass Ja-Rule and Bobby Brown [joint]!
Snoop: We start a coalition. And we get rid of Suge Knight No. 1 (snaps his fingers) for good, because that's a bump in the road and when you got a negative bump in the road it makes it hard. When he gets [released from prison] n***a’s get scared to go places and n***as get timid, instead of us being on a peaceful musical movement. If Death Row was dope, n***a you wouldn’t have to be on that negative s**t.
Hopefully he'll use this agression @ making a gangstashit album.. :D :P
-
Snoop: DMX would’ve made it because he was like a substitute for a Pac once Pac was dead he was the closest thing to him. N***as could relate to DMX he was that hard n***a that was like, "F**k it." So n***as could relate, but Ja Rule definitely wouldn’t be in the game. Oh but he ain't in the game now anyway. 50 Cent shut him down. (Laughter) I told you about trying to hit the boss n***a, you said something about me and I didn’t say nothing back to you, I told Irv Gotti I was gonna give y’all a pass, I ain’t gonna f**k with y’all. I know [Irv] was mad [that] Daz checked y'all n***as and y'all wanna shoot a shot at me instead of getting at Daz, but it’s cool though you can’t knock a boss off.
:D
-
Hopefully he'll use this agression @ making a gangstashit album.. :D :P
while readin that i was thinkin he needs to hook up with cube and dubc and lay it down :D
-
uhh... and what about HWA ? ;)
True forgot about them.
-
lol aiite funny shit 8)

Snoop needs to practice what he preaches, because unlesss something's changed, Snoop wants Puffy (The biggest mogul on the east coast) to executive produce his new album and the Neptunes, one of the biggest producers from the east to produce, and also has them and Kanye West producing the 213 album but no Warren G. If Snoop really wants to help the West Coast, he should retire and focus his efforts to be a businessman and help promote west coast artists instead of holding em back (E-White) and screwing them out of money (Eastsidaz)
-
I put the first West coast girl group in the game
The 5 Footaz (hint, hint)
Anyway...I'm glad to hear he sounds very confident in trying to bring the West back. So let's just see what will happen, 'cause so far it's only talk...hopefully he'll succeed in his goal.
And about the Nas thing: he gives a whole other version than what Frank Alexander (Pac's bodyguard) stated in his book. According to Frank's version, it definitely didn't go down like that, he didn't punk Nas, it was more about respect.
Something tells me Snoop is just making that shit up, but that's just my assumption of course.
-
damn that's the interview i needed to hear from snoop...he sounds like a pissy off, hungry artist that's ready to tear the rap game a new one...kind of like he did in the death row days...i am now looking foward to his next record whenever that's released, peace.

I can see where you're coming from, but I genuinely believe that Snoop wouldn't just make shit up when it comes to 'Pac. It always seems to me that he has to much respect for him to do something like that. If you ever read ''Tha Doggfather'' you'll see that Snoop is surprisingly open about 'Pac, and isn't afraid to admit what he considers were his mistakes and flaws. Despite this, he always maintains how much admiration and respect he had for him. Plus, his description of the account between Tupac and Nas may be different to others but it doesn't seem to me like he made that up on the spot...
Also, I was pleasantly surprised to discover no reference by Snoop to Don ''Magic'' Juan in this interview. What happened - did he get divorced from him too? Or maybe Snoop's wife got him in the court settlement! ;D
Back to the topic, that was a really good interview. As CRAFTY said, we will have to wait and see if Snoop starts making some positive changes. Putting out a new album through Doggystyle Records (besides his own of course) would be a step in the right direction. I'm certain Snoop has the finances to turn Doggystyle into a label of Aftermath proportions. He just needs to start working on it. With this interview and Snoop recently proclaiming that he was going to drop the ''izzle'' talk, I see a very positive change on the way for Snoop. Let's hope his next album is a strictly West Coast affair.
-
^^^^True.
-
And what about Menajahtwa....or even JJ Fad LOL!
Peace

major props to snoop.
-
nuttin wrong with snoop workin with cats from the east like neptunes cuz they give props to cats from all over the map aslong as he brings people from his own coast up to.....which i think he does.........snoops till a don.........he better hit up a sick next album tho still.......
not to make light of his situation with wifey but looks like that shit was good for his music career......haha......looks like his just thinkin fuck it, imma say what i feel fo real now.................but whats with his situation with dre?........from that interview it dont sound to good.........might be the reason dre aint doin nuttin on 213
-
I do get the feeling the divorce from his wife's made a positive impact on Snoop. He seems hungry and ready to make some noise now. He said the west needs to connect and I hope he'll help it doing that. I mean, nearly everyone wants to work with Snoop if he asked them. If he really wants he can ask for and count on help from Westside Connection,Damizza,DJ Quiks camp,Xzibits camp and L.A. Confidential...even the Bay might be open to it. Perhaps what we see with DPG-Unit and Daz on So So Def is the west coming back from the inside..
-
snoops gaining my respect back
hopefully he quits that pimping shit and goes back to his old gangsta ways
and this is tight now hes actually gonna try to push the west coast hopefully Dre does too man... this is really good news
plus about that pac shit idk id brather believe snoop then suge thats all im sayin
-
snoop seems real heated in that interview. I really dunno what to think of him anymore. I got mixed emotions. For the past 2 years I been like fuck him he sucks, but man maybe the dude can make a comeback. 213 album will probably be the make or break for snoop imo. If that ain't heated as fuck then I say snoop is done for, but if its good then I'll give snoop another chance. good interview, unfortunately I don't believe anything that comes out of these rappers mouths anymore.
-
Nice interview. I'm actually seeing Snoop's side of things now. He's brought up Nate, Warren, Kurupt, Daz, Doggy's Angels, and the Eastsidaz, as well as constantly working with Soopafly, Jayo Felony, E-White, RBX, etc. He has indeed paid the cost, as well as helped out a lot with the West Coast, so maybe he did deserve to start fuckin' with the Neptunes and what not, and put out that whack ass "PTCTBTB" album. And now he sees the West is fallin' off again and he wants to try and bring it back. Makes sense to me. Hopefully this isn't all talk though. We'll see.
-
Thats a dope interview. Thanks for bringin that ;)
-
i'm barely on the first part but
"He ain’t about helping the West and that ain’t no disrespect. Eminem ain’t from the West, 50 Cent ain’t from the West. Do I need to say more?"
he's basically say all dre gives a shit about is his paper stack
-
i thought all hip hop made up a lot of their interviews...
-
And I think Snoop allready said something like this before so even if it is made up (wich I doubt)nevertheless, Snoop's definately getting heated about the westcoast.
-
If this is all true... I think Snoop is having what alcoholics call a moment of clarity.
-
I HOPE THAT SNOOP IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Young Noble in XXL:
He got that concept (for "Me And My Girlfriend") from Nas. Remember Nas did that song about the gun? 'Pac used to like that song. When him and Nas squashed their beef, I was happy. I grew up on Nas...All the Outlawz were fans of Nas. 'Pac was too. He used to like Nas.
