Nelly will become the first rapper to drop two albums on the same day, releasing Sweat and another album, Suit on September 14.
While he is the first rapper to perform such a feat, Bruce Springstein and Guns 'n' Roses also have both dropped two albums on the same day in the past.
"I had so much material that at first I thought about releasing a double CD, but then I thought it would be better to release two albums separately to show fans the best of both sides of Nellyville," Nelly said,
According to Nelly, the Sweat album has more club oriented offerings, while Suit is more "grown and sexy," along the lines of his hit "Dilemma" with Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child.
"When I first came out I was representing my city hard," Nelly added. "Now I'm trying to explain so much more. I think both albums show my growth creatively and personally."
The lead single from Sweat will be Neptunes produced track "Flap Your Wings," while Suit's lead off single "My Place," a re-working of the Teddy Pendergrass hit "Come On And Go With Me."
Sweat and Suit are Nelly's third and fourth studio albums.
AHH

Why not just release a double LP? ::)

Most rappers are all the same.
50% clubtracks/bitches/mainstream tracks.
50% hood/gangsta/underground tracks.
Nelly is such a good rapper, he has
50% club tracks
50% bitches tracks
100% mainstream tracks

nelly is good at what he does, he doesn't front to be a gangster. the albums will prob sell good, most mainstream hiphop-heads like him i guess, so he gets rich quick. he's smart.

yer, I'll second that. Does what the bitches, the clubs and the average pop-listener loves, a poppy beat and lyrics that aint to complex and can flow dopely.

I like the idea of two seperate albums rather than a double album.
-
I ain't a fan of Nelly's, but I don't knock dude's hustle. He ain't claiming to be this or that. He just puts out music for the mainstream, and it sells. He's doin' it big.

Who ever is managing his career is an idiot. In both previous cases, Springsteen and GnR, this didn't work. His best bet would be to take the best songs off both albums and put them together for one disc.
I own both Human Touch/Better Days, and Use Your Illussion 1 & 2. They are 4 good albums, but they could have been 2 amazing albums. These stupid promotional tricks just confuse the fans. In both Bruce's and the Gunz's albums you had great singles from two different albums and people didn't know which album to buy, they didn't want to buy both, so they bought neither and just recorded the singles off the radio. This is proven in the figures. Both artists sold a lot less records than they're previous efforts. This was Bruce's (first) comeback, and GnR had a huuuuuuuge hit in November Rain. They should have done better in sales. In closing this will not work for Nelly, particuarly since he was never even close to being as big as Bruce or the Gunners.
Ofcourse, I hate Nelly so this is a good thing.
