i doubt Kobe will want to leave after SHaq says hes requesting a trade.  Thats basically the main reason he was deciding to leave in the first place.  He wants to be the main player for his team

Hopefully Kobe will sign for Clippers or somebody and then Magic will trade Mcgrady for Shaq with Lakers.

I can only dream ;D But if Magic r gonna lose Mcgrady then they may as well get an ex-Magic legend back.

i think kobe should stay, and basically everyone else should leave

they need to rebuild the team with kobe.

if mitch kupchak wouldnt have said that stupid shit about trading shaq, none of this would have happened.
Title: Re:Jackson leaves Lakers; Shaq immediately requests trade

think about it...

You are paying two superstar players a shitload of money, you cant start rebuilding around BOTH of those players. To rebuild it takes money.  Obviously the Laker organization wants to go young.  and it is obvious that Kobe is younger than Shaq.  With kobe you have a good 10 years with him, while with Shaq at the most u will have a good 6 years.  Also,  since after the NBA is a business...Kobe brings in more fans and more fans equals more money.  So the Laker organization has given Kobe more attention.  And this is where Shaq got butt hurt and decided that the laker organization is not going in the right direction.  whatever if it didnt work out the past two years...its not gonna work out anytime sooner...especially with the team's legs. it is just impossible to rebuild with the salary of both Kobe and Shaq.

where will Shaq go?  Im thinking ORlando...but Tmac will not go to the Lakers...that would be stupid a Kobe/Tmac team will be awful.  Basically, Shaq goes to Orlando, Tmac goes to the Suns, and Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudamire goes to the lakers in a 3 team deal.

Thats a good possibilty right there ^^^

the lakers would be a really good yound team there.

but then shaqs team sucks, and phoenix sucks.

lakers are the only ones getting a good deal.

man come on kobe is awesome but so is shaq.

you cant build a team around him but he still is the best center in the nba right now. but he should be traded.

My perfect scenario is Tomjanovic as the coach, with B.Shaw assistent.
Kobe as the star of the team, with Payton staying, Malone staying another year, and Shaq traded to Orlando with Indiana involved to get 3 youngs from Indi (McGrady to Indiana, Shaq to Orlando). Like that Lakers will have a pretty good team, young, with a deep bench, a great coach, and no more troubles. It will take 2-3 years to be as dominant as the Shaq-Lakers, but we will have a lot of money to spend, a deep bench, and good youngs.

i really don't want shaq leaving........it was hard (shaq being my favorite players since 93") rooting for the lakers and having a favorite player on another team......when shaq came to the lakers i was and have been in cloud 9 since 96'  having shaq on the team.....but if he has to leave so the organization can "rebuild" so be it (FUCK MITCH DICKCHECK!)

we would have an awesome team though with the possible players we would get

Indiana ( Jermaine O'neal, Al harrington, some dude)
New Jersey ( Richard Jefferson, Kenyon Martin, some dude, plus shaq gets to go home to new jersey)
Pheonix ( Matrix, Amare, some dude)

How many good years do you really think shaq has left? I mean, he's obviously past his prime, and he says he wont play for any less than the most amount an NBA player can recieve...Fuck HIM, Kobe didn't do shit...PeACe

i wouldnt take dirk for shaq.

dirk isnt really that good of a player in my opinion. He plays to much like a maverick if that means anything to you guys. He wouldnt fit in, on the lakers.

He doesnt play defense
He doesnt play like a "normal" poweforward
All he does is take jumpshots.

well you have to consider Dirk is much younger than Shaq.

you say a PF sucks if he's amazingly great at 3-Pointers, Jumpshots & FT's despite his 7'1". Most big men dont take these shots cause they simply cant.

Well but the main issue is that Dirk is much younger.

Effeciency:
4. Shaquille O'Neal (Los Angeles Lakers) 67 24.93
  5. Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavericks) 77 24.17
  6. Tracy McGrady (Orlando Magic) 67 23.75

Nik, with everything that comes out of your mouth, it proves you are a Kobe groupie, not a Lakers fan.  Calling Shaq a fat fuck, and selfish (Uh, more selfish than Kobe?).....some "Lakers" fans baffle me, i mean, they are losing their best player (Shaq), the most unstoppable player in the NBA, and the only Laker who did ANYTHING in the finals.......

Hey, I love Shaq...But the fact that he doesn't wanna play for the Lakers because Phil is leaving is pissing me the fuck off...And even worse, he says he won't play for less than the maximum amount an NBA player can recieve...That is just selfish and arrogant...Shaq is still a great player, but it's definitely impossible to build a team around him, especially since he's way past his prime, and can't even play 2 good games in a row anymore...He's talked mad shit about Mitch Kupchack as well, so I don't see any reason the Lakers should keep his selfish ass...I only want the best for the Lakers; build around Kobe...PeACe

dont get me wrong lakers are my team but fuck kobe seriously....cause if it wasnt for his selfish ass we most likely would still have phil and shaq the most dominant player in the league.....im really dissapointed why not just have a great player like shaq and kobe together until it turns over and becomes kobes team anyway......i hate the business more than anything in this.....but kobe just pissed me off...but im not saying he isnt a great player....i just dont agree with all of it....but everyone has their opinions......i just dont understand how you can have the most dominant center in the league and let him slip away.....sad day tho def cause no matter what that team isnt going to be the same.....but go lakers in 04-05 season...im sure they will be alright....but what if shaq gets traded and comes back to haunt the lakers???

the pistons have proven that a team can win the championship without a big man... getting rid of shaq frees up money for the lakers so that they can afford to have better role players.  think about it... two good players can be better than one great player.  there was talk about a trade for shaq for webber and bibby.  even though i don't like those players all that much, i can actually see them doing big things for the lakers.

lol are you retarded?

Ben wallace won back 2 back defensive player of the year titles. He led (or came in second) with blocks. Rasheed wallace imo is currently one of the best power forwards playing the game.

The pistons PROVED you need big men to win the game. They wouldnt have won without the wallaces

exactly and what the pistons did prove was that playing team basketball is more important than anything....something that kobe still needs to learn.....if you never build confidence in your players around you and give them opportunities you are always going to have a hard time.......see how frustrated kobe was when phil had him passing the ball in the finals cause kobe was having a hard time...granted he was gettin all the attention from the pistons.....so phil had him passing the ball to try to get people involved but you cant be doing that shit just at the end when you cant do anything.....if kobe would learn just that one fact like it took jordan a while to get as well then it would make things so much easier for him......what im saying is that team ball and gettin a win is much more important than anything else

Kobe was trying to play team ball...why do you think he had extremely low points in each first half of the whole playoffs basically.  He always trys to get his teammates hot...but in the fucken finals the lakers couldnt buy a shot...kobe would end up getting the ball with less than 8 seconds left in the shot clock...i dont care who u are but if ur teammates are dropping those shots u cant do much with 8 seconds left in the shotclock.  Shaq with his lil give me the ball shit...they would but he would always settle for those baby hook shots that USED to go in but not anymore.  Phil was gonna leave anyway...if Phil would have won two more rings, he would have left. if he would have won this last one...he wouyld have left.

i agree except the shaq part

kobe doesn't deserve any disrespect for the loss neither does shaq, the other players and to an extent phil jackson....he was hardly coaching out there, and basically threw in the towl.

i will go on record and say Jordan in his prime wouldn't of saved the lakers either if he was in kobe's or shaq's shoes.

shit hit the fan after we beat the wolves.

who was the one that carried the team in game 4 of the 2000 NBA FInals in OT when Shaq fouled out?

who was the one that single handledy destroyed the Spurs in the 2001 PLayoffs?  From what i remember there were a few close games there...who lead the team in the clutch OH YEA KOBE.

who blocked Sabonis' shot in game Four of the 2000 Western Conference Finals? Yup u know it...Kobe. If sabonis would have made that shot series would have been tied.

these are just a few reasons...Kobe earned those 3 rings along with Shaq and Phil.  It wasnt just that Shaq Show.  The trio and the supporters eearned those back to back to back championships.

the lakers would be dope if they had nash and kobe in the back court.  if they don't take that deal then the gm should be fired.  you're not going to find a better deal than that.

you have to consider the times those teams that made the playoffs were playing in.  back then the east teams were dominant and it wasn't a struggle to make the playoffs for any west team.

today in 2004 where the west teams are more dominant, the 8th seed is about 8 games above 500.  all you have to do is look at the 8th seed from last year and ask yourself... could a laker team with no kobe and no shaq beat that team the majority of the time?  i think the 8th seed was denver and i remember they barely got by them during the regular season and that was WITH kobe and shaq.  you're going to tell me that they could beat them without 'em?

that was the laker team with kobe and shaq... i was talking about a laker team without those two.  and using that logic... the lakers won the majority of the games and WERE the better team last year.  next year if they didn't have shaq or kobe they wouldn't be a better team than the spurs.

you have to consider the times those teams that made the playoffs were playing in.  back then the east teams were dominant and it wasn't a struggle to make the playoffs for any west team.

today in 2004 where the west teams are more dominant, the 8th seed is about 8 games above 500.  all you have to do is look at the 8th seed from last year and ask yourself... could a laker team with no kobe and no shaq beat that team the majority of the time?  i think the 8th seed was denver and i remember they barely got by them during the regular season and that was WITH kobe and shaq.  you're going to tell me that they could beat them without 'em?

I am considering the times...It was Shawn Kemp & Gary Payton's Sonic team...Karl Malone & John Stockton's Jazz team...Hakeem Olojuwan & Clyde Drexler's Rocket team...Charles Barkley & Dan Majerle's Sun team...David Robinson & Sean Elliot's Spur team...Tim Hardaway & Chris Mullin's Warrior team...Cliff Robinson & Jerome Kersey's Blazer team...Then there was the Lakers; the Lakers of Eddie Jones & Cedric Ceballos...Don't tell me the West wasn't strong back in those days, cuz they were...As a matter of fact, in '94 and '95, the West took it...Remember the Houston repeat? Yea, now please don't try coming up with another bullshit excuse...PeACe

Mavericks are insane.. look what they offer for Shaq:

Antoine Walker, Steve Nash, Marquis Daniels, Rookie, Laetner..ALL for SHAQ

if Lakers dont do this I dont know what to say.. I hope they dont though

Mavericks are insane? If they get Shaq, that's their championship....Imagine Shaq, Nowitzki, Stackhouse, Finley...You are insane, man...Antoine Walker? I pray to God he never gets to wear a Laker jersey, and who the fuck needs Steve Nash? Lakers don't need anymore guards.. They're looking to fill in the Forward position now... ::)

lol calm down homie. it's their championship, yes. but in  like 3 years shaq isnt worth shit no more. and then? walker and nash will play on quite a time, not to talk about the rookie and the sophomore. if you only look at next season, the trade is good. if you look at the next 5 years, the trade is garbage. and walker is actually a forward btw.

No shit Walker is a Forward. But like I said, I pray to God Walker never gets to wear a Laker jersey...I'd take Brian Cook over Walkers 3-point launching, no defense having ass...PeACe

ummm... ok, nobody cares about that.  we're talking about today... why are you avoiding the original question?  could the the lakers make it to the playoffs with their current roster minus shaq and kobe?  oh, i know why you didn't answer... you don't want to admit that they wouldn't.

No, we weren't talking about today, we were talking about the Lakers that made it to the playoffs year after year without Kobe or Shaq, and then I sonned you...And to answer your question, yes, I do think the Lakers can make it to the playoffs without Kobe or Shaq...Now shut up, or I'll mush your face in.

if you go up a few posts you will see that i did ask you that question before...  as a matter of fact... that's why you brought up the old laker teams that went to the playoffs without shaq, kobe, or magic.  maybe if you could stop thinking about kobe's nut sack for more than 2 seconds, you'd be able to focus on what it is you were supposed to be discussing... rather than the nonsense you usually post.  peace.

:'( <~~~NIK if Kobe goes to SA lol

BTW, the Lakers wont win much of anything without Shaq and Kobe next year. Thats just obvious. Now, if they were to keep one of them...and pick up some other people, theyd probably make the playoffs. But i doubt winning a championship. If it wasnt this year, it probably wont be for a while. Other teams are on the rise, while theyll be on the decline. If theyre smart theyll trade away Shaq while they can get some good quality players for him. Especially considering the idea of Kobe leaving. Too bad for them, Jackson isnt still gonna be around. They could have assembled a team that was more comfortable in the triangle, then what he had. Dont be in denial NIK. Its good to support your team, but u do gotta be real man. If LA loses both Shaq and Kobe, theyre done for a while. Shit, if SA lost Duncan tomorrow...id still support em, but i wouldnt like their chances of doin anything next year.

Yes, but the discussion progressed, and we covered different things...That's where I came in and sonned you...Get it?

I won't give a shit about Kobe if he leaves the Lakers...And I support my team no matter what...You think if Greg Popavich loses Duncan, he'll say, "Oh, I doubt we'll get far this year"...No, because as a coach, he is supposed to support his team...Just like a real fan should do...PeACe

If Kobe leaves the Lakers, he's a jackass. They trade Shaq because Kobe shall be happy. If he leaves nevertheless, I dont know what to say.
