Title: Rooney out for a month, metatarsal broken

not that it matters much, but thought ya'll might wanna know this...

broke that same thing becks broke a few years back

The Everton striker went straight to hospital for x-rays after limping off the field after just 27 minutes.

Rooney was injured in a challenge from Jorge Andrade and tried to carry on playing but in the end had to be replaced by Darius Vassell.

Coach Sven-Goran Eriksson confirmed that Rooney had broken a metatarsal - just as David Beckham did two years ago.

"It's the same injury as David Beckham had before the World Cup, he will be out maybe a month," said Eriksson.

England lost the game 6-5 on penalties after the score was 2-2 at the end of extra-time.

i was hoping he would come back on, but since i couldn't here tho commentry i didn't know what was going on

he was subbed, so he couldnt have come back anyway.

but... even he we had won, he wouldnt have played again in the tournament.

it looked like a minor injury cos he ran after...

Gutted for him really.  Oh well, he showed the world how good he is.
