Title: how to get rid of goddamn ActiveX?
Post by: hector on July 07, 2004, 07:57:14 PM
this stupid fuckin spyware bullshit.  yeah I know I can reformat my harddrive, but I don't want to.  I'm looking for a quiker simpler way.  anyone know?

btw I hope everyone who has created viruses and spyware dies a very horrible and painful death.  I hope somehow each one of them gets sent to some crazy country and is tortured for 200 straight days until they are finally put out of their misery, at which point they will then enter Hell.

I don't know or care about the answer to the question, but I know a better solution.

If you want to get rid of spyware, adware, browser jacking, etc., stop using the crappy IE. IE = Stone age programme.
There's 4 better browsers out there, they're called Opera, Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox & Netscape.

^^ The truth.

If you prefer to live in the stone age and still use IE, you better start using Antivirus with spyware detection, like e.g. Norton Antivirus.
If you already have spyware, use "Ad-Aware" to remove it.

I got fucked BIG TIME yesterday with this bullshit, and its still affecting me.  I ran Spybot, Spysweeper, SpyBlaster, and it got rid of the shit temporarily but I still got it.  The problem is that this fucking program keeps making my IE run through this gay ass proxy, so that I won't be able to visit any webpages.  So every 30 min or so , I gotta uncheck the proxy box >:(If anyone knows how to get rid this, it would be greatly appreciated.

^^Fuck you, anyone can get spyware, especially when some ignorant moron uses your computer without your permission and accepts those fucking security warning pop ups that install shit on your comp.

Yeah, but 95% of the people catching spyware, viruses, dodgy dialers, etc. are MORONS to say the least, who doesn't know better.
Just look at the high number of people still using IE, that there just tells me how easy spyware, dialers, adware, ad-bars, background programs, etc. is spread around.
Combine that with the number of people who use no kind of antivirus, and it's a wrap.

Actually, I don't think it was sarcasm.
Using Firefox instead of IE, does not only make you smarter, you also become more effective and happier..  ;D

First of all i was commending you on downloading firefox. Second Firefox is a better choice.
Firefox has tabbed browsing = More effective
Firefox is more secure, and looks better = happier
Firefox rules = Smarter

firefox honestly is alot more secure. Theres an AIM virus that if you click the link it loads a virus on your computer. just for the heck of it i clicked it, but it only works on IE. Ie is really really vulnerable to scripts.

LMAO, I think I got that shit, that might be the reason I've been fucked.  And yeah, it only works on IE, I run Mozilla and it works fine.  It also effects MSN too.  Does anyone have a patch er sumthin to get rid of it, or what would clear it?

Yup, rampant pretty much covered the most important stuff.

+ Firefox have a built-in popup stopper, better e-mail than Outlook, plugin to kill basically all ads & banners, better & easier to organize bookmarks, it's faster & doesn't take as much memory, search bar for Google or any other site directly in the browser, 99.5% of all viruses/backdoors/trojans is built for IE, etc. etc.
Mozilla or Firefox is the SMART mans choice..  ;D 8)
