Title: Top 5 Albums of 2004
Post by: Minkaveli on July 14, 2004, 04:05:52 PM
Since we are past the mid-way point now, I wanna know everyone's top 5 albums of '04.

Here are mine:

1.  Kanye West: College Dropout   8.5/10
2.  Jadakiss: Kiss Of Death   7.5/10
3.  Erick Sermon:  Chilltown NY  7.5/10
4.  The Roots:  Tipping Point   7/10
5.  Knoc'Turnal:  The Way I Am 7/10

I am very picky on my reviews.  I have only given out 4 perfect reviews.
2 Pac: All Eyez On Me
Dr. Dre: Chronic 2001
Common: Like Water For Chocolate
A Tribe Called Quest: Midnight Marauders
Anyway...

Post yours

Good topic, but I doubt any westcoast albums would get in most peoples lists.

Kanye West
Jadakiss
The Corrs
Shakira Live & off the record

No others are worthy for my list.

Hi-C is a great CD.  Suga Free's CD is pretty damn good, but not as good as Street Gospel.  Definitely worth picking up though.

fuck you, without the beats (which arent even Kanye's best) the album is a joke. his lyrics are terrible. i cant believe so many of you like it. im not christian or black so maybe i cant relate to some of those songs, but i hate the album.

omega stamp, alpha stamp, kappa stamp....great fuckin lyrics. i'd rather listen to a new mase album.

peace

WSC was released late 2003, so that doesn't really count...

1. Akon - Trouble
2. Kanye West - The College Dropout
3. Lil Wayne - The Carter
4. Twista - Kamikaze
5. Suga Free - The New Testament

Those 5 are definately great albums. Hi-C's album was also very good, same as the Prince album.

Not in a particular order...

Lloyd Banks - The Hunger For More
Devin The Dude - To Tha X-treme
D12 - D12 World
Kanye West - College Dropout
Young Buck - Straight Outta Cashville

Kanye West - College Dropout
Royce da 5'9" - Death Is Certain
Lloyd Banks - Hunger For More
Knoc-Turn'al - The Way I Am
D12 - D12 World

That's the only albums released in 2004 I've picked up. I got Hi-C's record coming to me in the mail (along with some classic material) and I might pick up The Roots' new LP if I got the paper for it. Gotta update the computer though, so no new CD's for me in a while.
