Title: Web Wars 2004 - WCA Vs Hitemup
Post by: Gambler on July 15, 2004, 02:14:52 PM

so it is on again kiddies  8)

Here is the story ... WCA posted a news report about the new Tupac album and its features. As is the case with some sources, they can be incorrect and it so happens that this one was wrong. Being the little smart ass that he is, Rukas on Hitemup decided to make a post dissing the accuracy of the story and trying to make WCA look bad (he has done this to Raptism.Com before as well)

Then over at WCA they posted a hilarious news post mocking the way hitemup posts stupid and pointless news stories which prompted the hitemup owner to respond to the disses. Funnily, all references to WCA were taken / edited from the original news story.

My opinion - I used to argue alot with Jon from hitemup but agreed to disagree and far as i know things are cool now. he tries to run his business the best way he can. he has a great deal of loyalty for his staff on hitemup as he always defends them. maybe if his staff were not smart asses then he wouldnt have to defend them.

but yea, check the news post on WCA - hella funny stuff  ;D

LOL!!! Streetflop.com has never been as good as it was when 2Real did it back in 2001. And to think Jon Peters baught that domain for a 4 digit sum, $****.00 shows how sad them hitemup dudes are.

I remember Rukas aka Mike asking me for an interview with 2 artists I work for back a couple years ago. Desperate kid.

Yeah, now Jon is talking shit about wcrydaz. Something like "They have the same layout toogangsta.com had when I bought it". Jon likes to think he's internet royalty or something. Foo plays too much Ouija with 2pac.

Westcoast site hates on the legacy of Tupac
Posted by Jon Peters on Thursday, July 15 2004

It's been reported to us that a few children running a relatively unpopular westcoast site, have decided to try and dis us simply because after contact with Amaru Entertainment we corrected information they had posted previously. (See Lil Jon to feature on Tupac's next album? Not true), and likely because the poster was previously denied a staff position at StreetHop.com.

In an attempt to dis us for keeping fans up-to-date on the legacy of Tupac, they've attempted to trivialize posts that show the influence that Tupac has had to this day. HitEmUp.com is a fan site, it will always be a fan site, and it will always be dedicated to the life, and legacy of Tupac Shakur. Love it or leave it, but trying to dis us for such childish reasons says more about the shortcomings of the haters than it will every say about us.

LOL

the reason for that is it was designed by kronik the dpg webmaster.. its his layout..

paying 1000s for the site is insane in my eyes... but hey..
i just happen to think i'm good at making up names for sitses... dubcnn? my proudest moment  ;D

dubcnn is one of the best names i've come across. i liked the way it was CNN with the Dub ;) But i thought raptism was pretty cool as well ... hard to find great names that aint taken these days.

raptism is def unique  :) so is ballerstatus

it took us weeks to come up with dubcnn.. after picking that i even had to rename this site to match :)

my minds gone blank for more.. many are just named after songs e.g. hitemup... and albums e..g. Wild n Tha West.. which was a DOPE site then vanished

there was a site coming that never saw light of day (i think)  which was gonna be called UrbanEar which i quite liked the sound of.. lol

streethop is a word used in a nas song.. altho i think it actually went up before god's son came out, so not sure how they came up with it from that, or somewhere else

Raptism should align with the Westcoast Connection,

Dubcc Connected Sites:
Dubcnn
Westcoast2K
Westcoastaftershock
Raptism
WCRydaz
Ballerstatus

All of the biggest websites.

Imagine if one day they all merged and was one website ran by all of the homies.

Nah it would never happen, plus I rarely get news update anymore so I wouldnt be interested but that would have been crazy.Dubcc as the fboard and Dubcnn as the 1 main site. Its cool how it is though with 6 or 7 good sites. I just wish they got paid for all the hard work.

u know i used to always think about the merging idea ... making one massive supersite that would have like 10 -15 news posters, huge interviews etc the way it works now, Raptism, WCA, Ballerstatus, WC2K and Dubcnn all interview the same people at the same time - we'd put all the interviews into one HUGE one and it'd be awesome.

But i think all the owners like their independance and whilst it would start off well, there would be too many creative differences that would hinder it in the long run. But hey, everyone is welcome to join the raptism team so that it becomes the biggest Hiphop site on the net, beating out the allhiphops and sohh's of the net  8)

but yea, we should really start a web ring similar to the 'Connected Sites' thing and have the "Big 6' Hiphop sites - sharing all of our hits would no doubt increase the volume of traffic, we'd get more advertisers and hopefully that would cover our costs!!!  ;D

I think you'll get more info from an artist when he talks to several websites than when he does 1 huge interview ;)
