blaze has done a good amount of work on young gunz album, bleek, and state propertys first and 2nd. all of which are fire production wise. this cat even threw in some dope beats on the blueprint album. he can sample just like kanye, but unlike kanye he has impressive keyboard skills. just look at hi-tek. fell off big time when he started fucking with keyboard beats more often.
-
i i iiii actually agree with smartass :o
-
They're both dope producers, but I like Just Blaze more just like you said. Kanye samples a little too much and Just Blaze has scratching on a lot of his songs which I like.
-
Kanye is definitely better than Just Blaze.
Just Blaze is too busy making generic dance/club-beats with almost the same sound, instead of sticking to what he does best; making soulful beats like "U Dont Know" (& remix), "Show You How", "December 4th", "PSA", "Soon You'll Understand", "Still Got Love For You", "Girls, Girls, Girls", etc.
He spends too much time on bullshit like "Hovi Baby", "Pump it up", "Lollipop", "Yeah yeah you know it", "Party & Bullshit 04", "Multiply remix" and other generic clubtracks for Nelly, Chingy, Nick Cannon, Buddens, Lil Bow wow, and whoever is willing to cough up some $$$.
And if you take into consideration that Kanye does a lot more with the samples he uses, Just just ain't seeing Kanye.
I've heard a lot of the original samples both Kanye & Just uses, Kanye makes a whole new track from it, while Just Blaze just adds a few effects and puts it on "120% speed".
Just started out with making beats for Jay-Z, Beanie, Scarface, Big Pun, Killah Priest and Busta.
Nowadays he works for artists like State Prop, Nelly, Nick Cannon, Fabolous, Buddens, Mariah Carey, Bleek, Dipset, Freeway, 24K..
He took the commercial route, while Kanye does 90+% hiphop.
Kanye >>> Just Bleezy

Kanye's a lot more soulful than Just Blaze like Jome said. I gotta pick the more soulful cat.
-
jome kaynes beats are just as poppy as just blaze. an so what if he sells beats to pop artist. why do you have to knock another persons hustle for.
U dont kno >>>>>>> any beat kayne made.
-
I liked Just Blaze before I liked Kanye, but since Kanye's album came out, I like his beats better. But I haven't heard a lot of Just Blaze shit lately.

Naww, Kanye might make some catchy tunes, but none of them as generic and watered down as the clubtracks I mentioned.
I don't mind Just selling beats to pop artists, I choose not to listen to them, but it's obvious he got more than one leg in the radio bizniss instead of the hiphop biz..
Jesus Walks, Aint No Love (Heart of the City), Never Change, Guess Whos Back, Get By, Overnight Celebrity >>> Just Blaze catalog (Except U don't know, that one is Kanye caliber)

ok an kaynes new work out plan wasnt watered down for the clubs lol. both them got jus as much in the radio biz an rap biz. there both just as poppy. why do you think jigga signed them as in house producers. it wasnt b/c they made dope beats for the streets like primo its b/c they both can make a dope an catchy beat.

I can not speak for the LIL JON produced remix.
Kanyes & Just's works on Blueprint & Black Album was pure hiphop beats, and it's obvious Kanye works with the artists he likes and wants to work with, but if you can say the same about Blaze.. :-\

LOL
I would much rather hear him making some soulful knockin hiphop beats for Jay-Z, Nas, Beanie, Scarface, Royce da 5'9'', Twista, D-Block, Rakim, Jada, CNN, Redman etc., than him wasting his time on Nelly, Nick Cannon, Buddens, Fabolous, etc.
IS that what you want to hear.. ?
You're always dissing Snoop for working with Tunes, Diddy, Britney, Timberlake and Chingy, selling out in general, so why should this be different.. ?

first off i rarely diss snoop for selling out. i diss him for falling the fuck off. an plus its funny seeing dickriders get there panties in a bunch. an 2nd there is a HUGE difference between an emcee an a producer. a producer aint sayin shit. he does work an makes music for whoever is willing to pay him unless he wants to work for a cheap price or for free. dont try an compare a producer to an emcee.

It's about the quality of the beat he sells.
It's also about who you're selling it to.
I see a lot of people disliking Timbaland because he works with pop artists and r'n'b-singers, but at least Timbaland is creative with it.
But fine with me, if you want him to work with Nick Cannon, 24K, Buddens, Nelly and them, I won't hate on you.. I'll just hate on Just Bleezy for working with them instead of my favorite hiphop artists. ;)
-
i like kanye more, but blaze got some hot shit
-
The beat for "U Don't Know" is probably the best beat I've ever heard, but IMO Kanye is a better all-around producer than Just Blaze.

Agreed with all of that, Jome.
-
im really feeling both of them, i just think at the moment Just is doing too much of the kind of track Jome is talking about. Didnt he do an Alchemist recently, think he sold the same beat to Peedi Crakk and Nick Cannon...i know whos track i prefer. but i cant knock the man for trying to keep his cash straight, everybodys got to eat.
but i wouldn't say Just is more pop than Kanye, i think hes starting to be a bit overexposed at the moment, hes got so much shit floating around and not all of it is of the quality we've come to expect from him.
-
Just Blaze, by-far is the best commerical producer out there. The only reason why people are picking Kanye is because 2004 is simply Kanye's year, and Blaze went into hiberation. Just Blaze can do both the synth beats (Roc Da Mic) and the soul samples. Dude digs for his own samples, has no co-producers, plays his own instruments and has a variety of beats, across many artists. Right now all he needs to do is build up a bigger catalogue. Kanye is dope though.
-
just blaze is far more versatile than kanye. have you ever heard kanyes older material? its horrible. i remember hearing some of it on this mixtape called the high school graduate. i cant believe i forgot about blaze producing most of freeways shit too, thats probably some of his best so far. just blazes remixes on the newer s carter mixtape>all the originals. even his beat for a reebok commerical was hot. kanye better stick with the selfish type of beats. i guess he finally noticed the soul sampling is overkill.
-
Actully I feel em both but
Just Blaze>Kayne West
I guess I've heard more from Blaze than Kanye :-\
-
I like both their stuff a lot, but I feel Kanye more 'cause of the already mentioned soulfulness.
-
I'm not feeling either. All of Just Blaze shit sounds the same and I really think that Kanye West is overrated.
-
Kanye west > dre
Kanye west > just blaze
you have to be smoking crack if u think just blaze is seeing kanye...
i am a huge dre fan and i have to say that kanye topped him wtih his new album
lsiten to "selfish" and tell me that shit isnt the flyest, "family business", all of kanyes catolog is amazing, he aitn seeing quik though or pre 2001 dre

I look at it like this. The job of a producer is to make a track which they think best suits the artist they are making the track for, to make the best of their talents as a rapper/singer/whatever. Just Blaze just seems to give everybody the same type of beats, whereas with Kanye he obviously tailors it for the artist as shown by the fact that when he works with Kweli you get a track like Get By and when he works with Luda you get Stand Up. Therefore I think Kanye is streets ahead of Just Blaze.
-
Just Blaze makes more club-friendly beats... People like that
