Alien = R
Aliens = R
Alien 3 = R
Alien: Resurrection = R
Predator = R
Predator 2 = R
Alien vs. Predator = PG-13
Fuck Fox up the ass with a rusty tire iron...What the hell kinda' shit is that? They're killing the fans of both franchises with this bullshit; it makes no sense whatsoever...I can't believe this shit.
-
this shit is gonna be like Independance Day..I SWEAR!
-
that is particularly gay - im very disappointed
-
that's some great capitalism for yea!
-
^^
Exactly. They wanna sell to a wider audience.
But there ain't no telling yet what the movie is like. I mean, the only thing we can be sure of based on the rating is that
1)There's not most likely going to be a sex scene
2)There's not gonna be excessive gore.
I think this movie tries to achieve an exciting atmosphere that's full of fear and tention though, not just show a bunch of people and different aliens wasting each other.
...Or it could end up being just like Independence Day.
-
good thing i wasnt gonna see it anyway.
But i do hate it when they do that. horror movies are supposed to be "horrific" not some pansey ass movie.

They've been toning down everything lately...

^This is the Top 21 in World-Wide box office.
now, when I look at this, 3 things come to my mind:
1. Most of those flicks are really new movies (not older than 5 years)
2. Most of those flicks are (if not all?!! !!!) franchises, or future franchises (by that I mean movies with at least one sequel, if not many more)
3. Most of those flicks are PG-13 or lower rated
Honestly, I gotta give Eminem mad props for makin a Rated R, no-sequel flick.
-
This is disappointing, and the reason PG-13 movies sell so much now is because today's little kids are a bunch of bitches who have been taught by their parents that R rated movies are bad. Fuck this, I'm not gonna see this movie now. And I bet it will sell less tickets than it would if it was rated R, because the majority of Alien/Predator fans are over 17. By doing this, tey might as well have not used the Alien and Predator name, because they are losing their total fan base anyways.
-
You cant take most of those Box Office numbers serious. Ticket prices are more expensive today then they were 30 years ago. Look at Jaws, Dr. Zhivago, Exorcist, Ben-Hur and so on...all of these movies were exremely popular at the time. Lets take a look at Ben-Hur which was released in 1959....it sold 74 million. If it was released in 2004....it would have sold 704million. So basically that box office all time is BS.
MPAA and some movie producers are gay. So fuck that shit, sometimes they just kill movies. For example. the japanese kill bill version is more violent than the one that was released here in the States. Stupid MPAA and movie producers.
13 year olds watch pg13 movies because they cant buy a ticket to see a rated R movie not because they are afraid of them. Some movie theaters got strict too. I had gotten tickets to American Wedding and i was 17 but didnt have an ID at the time...i showed my ticket and they still didnt let me in to see the movie...i had to sneak in to the movie that i had tickets to. That was some fucking bullshit. so it sells alot cuz alot of teens can actually get in without sneaking in or telling other people to buy their tix. look at scary movie 1 and 2 both rated R, then Scary MOvie 3 came out it was rated pg 13 and it sold way more opening weekend than both 1 and 2. Its jsut stupid. Filmmakers should put their foot down.

You have to take into consider inflation over the past 100 years.
If you take that into consideration, then Star Wars would be the best selling movie (im pretty sure)
-
This is the top 10 list adjusted to inflation
1 Gone With the Wind MGM
2 Star Wars Fox
3 The Sound of Music Fox
4 E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial Uni.
5 The Ten Commandments Par.
6 Titanic Par.
7 Jaws Uni.
8 Doctor Zhivago MGM
9 The Exorcist WB
10 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Dis.
just Titanic is the only movie from the 90s And quite a few rated r movies there
-
Probably wasn't gonna watch it anyway, Aliens was dope but started getting a bit stupid after the first two, and I have never liked Predator. The fact that it's gonna be a PG-13 pretty much confirms that it is gonna be a shit movie. Wouldn't wanna go and watch it in the cinema with a load of kiddies around even if I did wanna see it.
-
Gay for us, but Fox is gonna make a shitload.

-

^^No they're not...The fans are pissed... They took two R Rated franchises, combined them, and butchered them down to PG-13...Look at the horror movies that have been recently released with R ratings, they have been doing really well: "Freddy vs Jason", "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "28 Days Later", "Final Destination 2", etc...Then you got these movies that were re-edited to shit just so they can get a PG-13, like "King Arthur" and "Chronicles of the Riddick"...This is just horrible, stupid, and makes no sense whatsoever...I mean, if any movie should get an R, this should be it...You had Aliens bursting out of peoples chests in the "Alien" franchise, and people being skinned to death in the "Predator" franchise...That's what made those movies...Now how the hell are you gunna show that with a PG-13?...Fuck Fox, fuck Paul Anderson, and fuck anyone who thinks this is a good idea...PeACe
-
And now they're gunna cut "Exorcist: The Beginning" to an R rating, because the MPAA slapped it with a NC-17... :-\

MPAA needs to get off the movies industries buts for real. That's really wack, I was waiting for that movie and now I gotta see the retarded version.
-
Fuck Paul anderson? for what? he's not in charge of the ratings. he himself even said that this shit was gonna be Rated R...but u know FOX were the ones behind this rating, probably to get more money. and dont worry too much ya, just cuz its PG-13 dosent mean that your not gonna see some killings...AS LONG AS its not humans getting cut in half, its okay to show alien creatures ripping each other apart in a pg-13 movie since its not "REALISTIC" violence...like lord of the rings for example, u seen those orcs getting their fucking heads chops off and shit like that...its pretty violent..but it was only pg-13...so we are gonna see some killings...this movie was rated pg-13 cuz of violence and GORE...so yea...better then nothin eh.
and at least we will probably get an R version of the movie on DVD in the future. dont automatically judge that this shit is gonna be wack just cuz its PG-13...just wait til it comes out and see it for yourself.
-
i just saw a comercial like 5 min ago and they said it was yet to be rated?
