he doesnt even really like religion , he says it himself, he thinks it only divides people........he is not here to judge anyone, he is only here to help
he says his reason for returning to rap is that the hiphop community needs him more than the church does right now, and i see where he is coming from-- he doesnt plan on preaching in his songs, he just wants to live a positive lifestyle and show others you can find god and still liev the good life, dont need to do drugs and fuck bitches all the time.
he's trying to bring god into peoples lives and show them that you dont have to be a stereotypical christian, you can still live your life. WHile i have mixed views on his actual album, i like who he has become
The biggest thing is that he has grown alot even from a couple years ago. Back then he was saying rap is the devil, ubt he now realizes that rap is not the devil, just what certain artists rap about......... and he still will work with those artists, he is not here to judge, i think its hard fopr people to accept because we all have our views of what a pastor or preacher should act like, and mase doesn tfit the stereotype

I respect the guy because, he was successful, makin mad paper, but he left it all because he felt he wasn't leavin right. He didn't time out from the rap game until he could balance his religion and his rappin. Came back, and completely switched up his style, not to get more fans or money like most rappers, but because he felt it was the right thing to do.
And he's not one of those rappers who claim religion but aren't practicing what they preach, at least not yet.
