... f...f....Fiona Apple. She recorded a full album, entitled "Extraordinary Machine", and I've heard a couple tracks, it's pretty good stuff, if you're into her. Sony sits on it for a while, then tells her they don't hear a single, and have no plans to release it, so now she's sitting in limbo stuck on a label that won't release her music. Man, the music biz has totally changed. Years back, remember when they used to actually PROMOTE albums? lol. Now, if you've had an album or two out and aren't the latest Jessica Simpson, you get NO promotion from anybody. If they won't promote Michael Jackson or Mariah Carey, you know Fiona doesn't have a chance in hell of ever making it again...

i'd let her cry on my lap......i mean shoulder

Jackson and Carrey were promoted just fine. I remember the huge buzz around the Invincible Album coming out, eventhough it sucked. The problem was that these over the hill morons thought Sony should spend more money promoting the album than the album will actually make. An artist llike Fiona Apple doesn't make shit off of album sales anyway, most of her loot probably comes from touring, so all she has to do is release the damn thing on her website, and other music related websites, for free, and then go on a tour.
