-
not bad for a westcoast cd
-
FLOP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sike!
Thanks for the heads up!
-
That's about what I expected it would move. Pretty good, imo. Definitely much better than 80k that people were predicting earlier.
-
if the album came out 3-4 years ago it would of did 250,000-350,000 its first week. The album wont go gold. an for an album that every1 lables a super group an is goint ressurect the west, i could see where your call that a flop. I dont know if i would call it a flop but i sure as hell wouldnt call it a sucess like a lot of you here are trying to say.

So 100,000 units moved in a week is not a success?

not for a so called supergroup to bring the west back

not for a so called supergroup to bring the west back
So being the 3rd most sold album in the nation isn't bringing the west coast back?

who gives a fuck about sales ??? the album sucks...case closed

who gives a fuck about sales
Everybody in this thread who posted gives a fuck.

who gives a fuck about sales ??? the album sucks...case closed
thats your opinion.
-
I think 300K first week is a success for anyone
100K sold for unknown fuckers is awesome
213 SHOULD have done AT LEAST 300K
Hell, Shyne and The Roots sold more than 213
-
100.000 only in the US... the copies over here in Holland where sold well. The store where I bought it selled at least 10 copies on the first day and that's in Holland where's no promotion or video. I think that's not bad... Worldwide it's at least 150.000... and the album don't sucks... yeah I feel you when you say it sucks because there isn't a Warren G production on it. But the album could be a lot better in my eyes if Snoop kept it straight westcoast. So no Kanye West... But the album is a lot better than all those westcoast albums that was coming out the last few months with 3 or 4 good tracks on it.... But that's my opinion! Listen to the album as a westcoast music fan and not as a Snoop Dogg hater. I know his rhymes aren't that good like it used to be. But you know... People change and the music changes. And if the album sells who gives a fuck? 213 isn't... I still like the album... Peace ;)
-
Yea the 100k is only US, not Worldwide..

Is there anyway to find out how it did in sales world-wide?
-
Congrats to 213, I knew that 80k figure was bullshit. #3 in the country, REAL BIG ;)
-
Wesside Connection sold more than this right?
100,000 aint bad, but they dont really have a bonafide second single, nothing even like gangsta nations...........maybe twist ya body or absolutely could do it............
-
::) @ groupies giving props for good sales...like you guys are getting profits out of it and making a buck ...missy elliot sells a couple mill does that make her albums any good???? same goes for nelly, ja rule, and fat joe....i'd rather have a good album than one that sells commercially...besides im shocked people are still buying cd's...i felt ripped off using a cd-r on it cant imagine buying it

how can you judge what's good or bad? everybody's got a different taste... I don't like those Nelly & Ja Rule dudes also... but you can respect somebody's opinion and taste ;)

i love the album, i think it's real good but i don't think that 100,000 is very good for 213...but i think the sales will be consistant for awhile once people realize what the fuck 213 is in the first place, peace.
-
i will say this though is that 100k ain't bad but they dropped the single and the video way late the vid premiered on direct effect the day the album dropped so i think the sales will stay around this for a while or even go up possibly
-
this is still damn good even with havin shitty promotion but I think this will start to creep up on the promotion and will move some more units and even go platium

1. Lloyd Banks- The Hunger 4 More- 423,058
In 1st week.. debut LP.
Some people called this a flop.. :D
-
100K, that's pretty good, more than I would have guessed they would move. Plus, all those songs with Nate singing hooks are all single potential, they could go old school and release like 8 singles off the album, lol and end up pushing 2 or 3X platinum.

Yea but you cant really compare Banks buzz with 213...

Damn there are some negative mafuckas on here.
I told my homeboy from LA that it's people hatin on the album, and he was like "who? Everybody I know is feelin it, LA and from everywhere else" and for my homeboys at home, I don't think it's a single one that doesn't like it, and we are the niggs in LA who have been supportin the west forever even tho it "fell off" like people say.
The sales number itself isn't that good, but #3 on billboard is definitely good. I don't know if you realize it, but when some people go to the stores and they see the top 20 albums like at sam goody, they are like "oh shit, its #3? It must be pretty good, I'll check it out" which leads to more sells. And there are definitely 4-5 single potential songs. I donno about y'all, but everybody that I know likes "Joysticc" mainly from the hook and beat. Absolutely is definitely a club track. Lonely Girl definitely has a dope ass vibe to it that is commercial and 106 and park material. Appreciation may even be cool for a single. So this album could go Gold, Platinum, and maybe double platinum.
And who said this album was supposed to "bring the west back?" If you ask me, I don't really think one album alone can "bring a coast back" regardless...it's gonna take a few strong albums to bring the attention to the west that allows other artists to get the attention neccessary to blow, and then five years later when the west is back in the commercial spotlight, we can look back like "the west came back when 213, game, crooked" (just random names) dropped their albums. I mean, what if 213's album was great, classic, produced by Dre and Warren, and everybody liked it, but then the west coast still didn't "come back"? Would that mean that 213 didn't bring the west back?

report from boston:
"absolutely" no promo! i've yet to hear "groupie luv" on the radio.
"twist yo body" & "absolutely" should be the next singles.
the album is not a "classic", but it's definitely damn good. go out and support it (buy it) cuz radio and promo outside of cali don't show the west any luv.
peace.

213 tHa GaNGstA cLICC WILL BLOW THE FUCK UP^As a SINGLE
absolutly is good but people will get tired of it
twist Ya body is good but not single mATERIAl
Lonely Girl could blow up eaSILY as AN rNB SINGLE sAME As joysticc
SINCE THE GROUP IS ON TVT THEIR SCOND SINGLE WILL PUSH THEM TO PLatinum
but if they waNNa be in competition with ANY LIL JON SINGLE OUT THEY NEED TO RELEase gANGSTA clicc
-
So apparently the second single is gonna be Joysticc (DubCNN.com)... that's an interesting choice.
EDIT: They might be using it to lead in or promote Nate Dogg as a solo artist, kind of like how G-Unit did with "Smile."

Straight up. It is nice to see somebody get success with their record that deserves it, but to me at least that's a moot point. The music is the important thing. Hi-C's record didn't get big sales figures but that record is still way better than the 213 record. That's fuckin sad to me too, 'cause Warren and Nate are two among my favourite artists ever.
If they set up maad promotion and pick a good single and make a good video for it, this album could maybe reach gold status, but that needs some work. 'Cause most of the music on the album isn't able to carry the the record there.

i agree... 213 the gangsta clicc is tight and should be a single... my bad for leaving it out of the list.
peace.

That's gon be #4 finally, not #3.
Prince's Musicology gonna be in the numba 3 spot with 99k sales. Check that CD out if you haven't done yet.
-
First, Hi C album is not tighter than the 213 album, IMO. Second, twist yo body should be the next single. Beat and flows are tight. But I havent really listend to joystic but I remember when i first heard it i wasnt really feelin it. Ill check it again. And R Tistic is on pt. Id like to add that given that 70% of the country at even really heard the single and about the album, 90000 the first week is pretty damn successful. You cant compare these sales to artists whos videos are on bet and mtv every ten minutes and who gets spins in every big city in the us. Some of yall arent to smart

what did terrorist threats sell?
