STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- Luck has run out for a Swedish teenager with a winning lottery ticket.
Lottery officials say the scratch-off ticket is worthless, because it was stolen. The 15-year-old boy swiped the ticket from a grocery store, but manager Patrik Nygren recognized the kid on surveillance tapes.
Nygren went to the teen's house to reclaim the ticket. The boy had scratched the ticket and discovered it was a winner worth up to $1 million.
Nygren contacted a lawyer to see if he could claim the prize. But Swedish lottery officials said there will be no pay off. According to the lottery, the government owns the ticket until someone buys it -- and no one did.
