It's the new Coen Brothers film. The Coen Bros. are highly respected, oscar winning filmmakers. They've done Fargo, The Big Lebowski, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Raising Arizona, The Man Who Wasn't There, Hudsucker Proxy, Barton Fink, Intolerable Cruelty, Blood Simple etc.

The Ladykillers is a remake of the 1955 film of the same name. The original was a fuckin' great movie, hilarious. Alec Guiness was the lead and gave a great performance in his second most memorable role (assuming Obi-Wan was his most memorable). Peter Sellers also had a supporting role. Its about a group of criminals posing as musicians as they rent a room from an old lady to mastermind the perfect crime from. however the lady starts getting in the way.

i enjoyed the remake but not as much as the original nor the earlier coen bros. films and this seems to be the general review many critics have given it. its still worth seeing though and i suspect would be fun if you hadnt seen the original and didnt know which way the story was going to go
